News - Joaquin Phoenix Struggled With Joker 2's Musical Numbers
In 2006, Joaquin Phoenix was nominated for Best Actor for playing Johnny Cash in Walk the Line, a role that required him to sing Cash's legendary songs. Phoenix didn't win the Oscar until 2020 when he was named Best Actor for playing Arthur Fleck in Joker. However, Phoenix's previous music experience didn't make things any easier for him when filming Joker: Folie à Deux. According to director Todd Phillips, the pressure of shooting the sequel's elaborate musical numbers made Phoenix feel physically ill. While speaking with EW, Phillips said that Phoenix "was sick every day" over nerves because the movie required him to sing and dance on set alongside his new co-star, Lady Gaga. Phillips also credited Gaga--who plays Harley Quinn in the film--with giving Phoenix advice that helped him up his game for those scenes. Conversely, Phoenix was able to give Gaga suggestions that helped her performance as well. "The truth is, they gave each other pointers," recalls Phillips. "He'd give her pointers about acting; she's been in movies, but he's Joaquin Phoenix. She gave him tips about music because she's Lady Gaga. It’s what movies should be: a giant collaboration." Instead, Sucker Punch is making a sequel in the form of Ghost of Yotei, which features a new hero and a different time period. In this post, we're rounding up everything we know about Ghost of Yotei, including its release window, story, characters, and setting. When will Ghost of Yotei be released?Ghost of Yotei is in the works for PlayStation 5 and is set for release at some point in 2025. A specific release date has not been announced, however. News - The Batman's Canceled Spin-Off Was Like "A '70s Cop Show"
Earlier this month, The Penguin became the first spin-off from The Batman, but it wasn't the only show that was originally under consideration by HBO and Max. An Arkham Asylum series and a show about the Gotham City PD were also in development before ultimately being dropped. Now, Terence Winter, the showrunner of the proposed GCPD series, has shed some light on his vision for the show. "The idea was that we were going to do a 1970s cop show--something that felt like [Sidney Lumet's 1981 crime series] Prince of the City, but in the Gotham City Police Department," said Winter during his appearance on The Playlist's Bingeworthy podcast. "It was going to have that ['70s] feel. It was going to be a present-day cop who is like a third-generation Gotham City cop, you know, his grandfather, his dad... and Gotham City was largely corrupt. And this is the guy we meet in the present day who's realizing that he's kind of on the wrong side. The Batman was somebody that lived in that world, but you never really saw him. And it was really all about the police department and sort of this guy." Winter went on to explain that he developed the show, but The Batman director Matt Reeves "wasn’t feeling it." Regardless, Winter doesn't harbor any bad feelings about the unrealized project. Continue Reading at GameSpot

News - FC 25 Launch Trailer Shows Beckham Locking In, Gnarly Blisters, And Vomit
EA Sports has released the launch trailer for FC 25, which is out now in early access for people who buy premium edition, ahead of its rollout for everyone on September 27. The launch trailer is intense. The trailer shows legendary footballer David Beckham receiving a phone call but choosing to ignore it and instead turn up his TV's volume and lean forward to truly focus. The trailer bounces between footage of the game and live-action scenes showing the dedication people have to the real-world sport with intense, close-up shots of gnarly blisters, a ball-bruised stomach, and x-rays depicting an injured ankle. There is even a quick shot of a player doubling over in exhaustion and throwing up their lunch. Take a look for yourself in the launch trailer below. 21-year-old star Jude Bellingham is the global cover star for FC 25. Bellingham, an English midfielder who plays for Real Madrid, is the youngest star of an EA Sports football game to date, and he'll also be on the cover of EA Sports FC Mobile.
