Dragon Age: Inquisition (Slay Dragons In Multiplayer!) New DLC
Posted by: xSicKx - 05-07-2015, 11:33 PM - Forum: New Game Releases - Replies (1)

Dragon Age: Inquisition is an action role-playing video game developed by BioWare and published by Electronic Arts. It is the sequel to Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II, the third major game in the Dragon Age franchise. The game was released in November 2014 for Microsoft Windows and the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One video game platforms.

The player has to choose a race for their player character: human, dwarf, elf, are playable races, with Qunari playable for the first time. Combat focuses on the player's ability to prepare, position, and form a cohesive team with their party members. Tactical view returns for all five platforms in Dragon Age: Inquisition, whereas before it was exclusive to PC in Dragon Age: Origins, and was removed entirely in Dragon Age II.

The romance aspect of the game has been overhauled. As opposed to the previous gift and dialogue based system, romance arcs occur in reaction to story events and variables specific to each character and include sex scenes. Additionally, not all romance arcs require sex.

Customization was significantly overhauled, specifically by allowing equipment and other items to modify their appearance based on who it is equipped to. For example, if the player finds a breastplate and decided to give it to a party member; depending upon which party member received it, the breastplate would automatically adjust its shape and aesthetics in order to fit that particular character while still maintaining his or her identity. Players can customize their keeps, such as rebuilding a garden as a Chantry church or a herb garden. These upgrades have minor effects on the Inquisitions espionage, commerce or military capabilities.

Players have an ability to import their save files from the first two games into Dragon Age: Inquisition "to shore up world consistency". If players of the previous games do not have access to those save files, Bioware released an online interactive story creator, narrated by Varric, in which they can detail the major plots of the previous two Dragon Age games to provide this level of customization without requiring replay of the initial games.

It looks like this; a tapestry with some familiar scenes or characters depicted in a familiar style. You can drill down to the finest of details and create a ‘world state’ that you can then export into Inquisition.

Here's a trailer, showing what this online update is all about. (It's about dragons.)

You can fight dragons on the new Ferelden Castle map; but only if you or an ally have crafted the Dragon's Call item. Players will need to fight to Zone 5, and then use the item to summon one of the three elemental dragons added in this update. And would you believe it, there are new weapons and armours available for those who successfully take down the big ol' lizard.

For the full round up on Dragon Slayers in the New Dragon Age series, visit this link to BioWares FAQ on dragon-slaying.

Q: Are there any new characters in Dragonslayer?
A: Dragonslayer adds three new characters to the multiplayer mode roster:

  • Skywatcher, the Avvar: A warrior who can summon the elements to unleash massive damage;
  • ZITHER!, the Virtuoso: A crowd-pleasing mage with a musical twist;
  • Isabela, the Duelist: The swashbuckling, dual-dagger rogue is back, wielding a handy crossbow to keep foes pinned down.
Each character has brand-new abilities and mechanics, bringing a whole new gameplay style and feel to Dragon Age: Inquisition multiplayer mode.

Bloodborne | Game of The Month!
Posted by: xSicKx - 05-03-2015, 06:00 PM - Forum: Sony Discussion - No Replies

Bloodborne is an action role-playing video game directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki, developed by From Software, and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 4. It was released worldwide to critical acclaim in March 2015.

Bloodborne features action role-playing elements similar to Demon's Souls and Dark Souls.

Players can return to a safe zone, known as the Hunters Dream, from lanterns spread throughout the world.

Doing so replenishes health, but repopulates monsters in the game world. Combat is fast paced and requires an offensive approach in order for players to combat dense hordes of enemies. The player character is agile and is able to perform sweeping dashes around enemies while locked on. The new risk versus reward style of gameplay is emphasized through Bloodborne‍ 's health regain system, which allows the player to, within a small window of time, recover portions of lost health by striking back at the player's attacker.

Most melee weapons can transform into two alternate states; each state encourages a different approach to combat. The Saw Cleaver, for example, in its initial state can be used to quickly dispatch enemies in cramped areas, but when transformed into its secondary state it becomes an extended blade more suited for crowd control. The player can also wield a firearm in their left hand that can be used to stun enemies, which can then be followed up with a critical attack from the player's melee weapon.

Similar to Dark Souls, enemies drop experience points in the form of Blood Echoes. Should the player die, their Blood Echoes will be lost at the location of their death. If they are able to reach that point again they can regain them. However, should the player die a second time on their way to retrieve their lost Blood Echoes, they will be forever lost.

[Image: bloodborne-blood-echoes-farming-1024x576.jpg]

Also, Blood Echoes may be captured by an opponent, typically identified by glowing purple eyes. Defeating this opponent will return lost Blood Echoes. Enemies also drop Blood Vials, used as healing potions, and Quicksilver Bullets, generic ammunition for ranged weaponry. Players can also sacrifice health to create Blood Bullets for their ranged weaponry.

Multiplayer is present as well. By expending a consumable item, players can summon other players, to help with boss battles or large groups of enemies.

This also leaves the player vulnerable to invasions, in which another player may invade the victim's game world and attempt to kill them, unless the player can find and defeat a special NPC before an enemy player invades. Multiplayer summons are also limited by proximity, and players can only be summoned within a specific distance of each other, typically near boss battle entrances, to prevent players being summoned too far away to be of any assistance.

A new feature that differs from the previous Souls games are Chalice Dungeons. Chalice Dungeons are randomly generated dungeons that vary in depth and difficulty that can be reformed by performing a ritual with a Chalice in the Hunters Dream. Chalice Dungeons contain optional bosses that provide additional items and equipment.

The Desolate Hope

About The Desolate Hope:

On a distant edge of an unknown planet, an abandoned structure sits in silence. Constructed by an unmanned research vessel sent from Earth, the Lun Infinus station was designed to run simulations for a five year period, exploring possibilities of human colonization in the case that Earth became uninhabitable. Developed during an age of ambition and wealth, the project was quickly abandoned when interest faded in the following years.

The last transmission from Earth occurred more than thirty years ago. The Lun Infinus station contained five sentient computers, Derelicts, built with certain levels of mobility in the case of emergency or need for relocation. Each of these Derelicts was to formulate their own plan for colonization based on thousands of hours of simulations. Given the amount of time that has passed however, the simulations have become very elaborate and bizarre. Meanwhile however, a mysterious computer virus has emerged. The virus of unknown origins has been slowly ravaging the Derelicts. Because of this, more and more CPU processing power has been needed for anti-virus measures, leaving less power for the simulations. Coffee is the last mobile resident of the station, a small service robot who spends his days keeping the station and the Derelicts operational as they perform their daily tasks. Since CPU power is slim, Coffee has been cutting corners to find ways around the virus. By using small subsystems and less vital CPU's scattered through the station in lesser devices, Coffee has designed a line of digital helpers, each simply called a D-Co, or "Digital Counterpart", to assist him in fighting the virus and keeping the station operational. Eventually the virus gets the best of each D-Co, and Coffee tries to create an improved D-Co using a different CPU. The latest is D-Co 9, built using the code of a simple computer game. Coffee dedicates his own CPU to be used for the main simulations, putting D-Co in charge of moving his body throughout the station, taking care of the needs of the Derelicts, and fighting off virus attacks when they occur.

WiiU, Information Regarding USB Storage Device
Posted by: xSicKx - 04-26-2015, 12:05 AM - Forum: Nintendo Discussion - Replies (1)

Wii U supports USB hard disk drives with a dedicated power source, called self-powered USB.

Flash memory devices have a limited number of rewrites and are not suited to long-term storage of important game data, so we do not recommend the use of flash memory devices as an external storage device solution. For best results, we recommend using a hard disk drive with its own power supply that connects to the Wii U via the USB port on the console.

The maximum amount of storage supported by Wii U is 2 TB (terabytes). Wii U will be able to recognise a storage device that is over 2 TB, but 2 TB will still be the maximum amount of storage capacity. Any extra capacity in the storage device beyond the 2 TB will not be accessible via Wii U.
To optimise performance and ensure a consistent experience, all USB storage devices must be formatted and configured for use with the Wii U console.

Please note that after formatting a USB storage device for your Wii U, it is formatted exclusively for that Wii U console, and cannot be shared as storage media with other devices such as personal computers or another Wii U console.
