At long last, The Sixth Sense and Signs are finally getting the 4K Blu-ray treatment this year. Both films are being restored in HDR from their original camera negatives, and if you're looking to watch M. Night Shyamalan's breakout hit and one of his weirder flicks, you can preorder them now at Amazon ahead of their October 22 release. Both releases are currently priced at $46, but you can expect the price to drop before they arrive, and you'll be charged the lowest offered price when your preorder ships. Along with 4K discs, these releases come with standard Blu-ray and digital copies. The new editions arrive shortly before Shyamalan's latest film, Trap, releases on 4K Blu-ray.
If you never watched it, The Sixth Sense was the film that put Shyamalan on the map. The movie was a critical and commercial success, earning more than $672 million at the global box office, and tells the story of a young boy who can see and talk to the dead. Featuring Bruce Willis and Haley Joel Osment, The Sixth Sense is still an effectively creepy piece of cinema, and even if you know the twist, it's still a polished thriller that holds up pretty well 25 years later.
Signs is a more polarizing movie, and it starred Mel Gibson as a former Episcopal priest who had lost his faith. This film saw Shyamalan venture into sci-fi horror territory for the first time. It's a well-executed alien invasion story that keeps you on your toes with some clever scare tactics.
Special features haven't been confirmed for either movie yet, but typically, older films like this inherit their bonus features from previous Blu-ray releases.

Between new Warhammer 40K, Harry Potter, and soccer simulator games, September is shaping up to be a packed month on the gaming calendar. But the best-reviewed game of the month--and the year thus far--has just launched in the form of Astro Bot, a new adventure starring Sony's adorable mechanical mascot. Astro Bot has been a critical smash-hit, as numerous reviews have praised it for being an exciting platformer that is a joy to play and uses the DualSense controller to create immersive gameplay. News - Sonic The Hedgehog's New Comic Book Calendar Includes Over 300 Illustrations
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 races into theaters on December 20, and if you're banking on it being a blockbuster that'll carry you through next year with its energy, then you can do so in style with an official 2025 Sonic calendar. Out on October 29 and priced at $16, this is an officially licensed calendar that can barely contain all 12 glossy images of the Sonic crew inside of it. Probably. But before you buy your Sonic calendar, make sure to also take a look at the day calendar featuring hundreds of illustrations from the official comic book series, as well as the Sonic wall calendar with character designs from the games.
We're not exactly certain what the images inside will be, but the best guess is that it'll include some snapshots from the film showing off the cast in action. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 reunites the titular speedster with his pals Tails and Knuckles, and also introduces the ultimate lifeform Shadow the Hedgehog, who's voiced by Keanu Reeves.
Sonic finds himself outmatched by Shadow in the threequel, so he reluctantly joins forces with Dr. Robotnik, once again played by Jim Carrey in what could be his final big screen role. Carrey is also pulling double-duty on the film, as he'll be playing Robotnik's father Gerald in the movie.
If you simply love Sonic and don't need your calendar to be themed around the upcoming film, there's another option that is a bit more substantial: Sonic the Hedgehog Comic Collection 2025 Day-to-Day Calendar. This is a desktop calendar with tear-off pages for each day. It features 313 illustrations from the comics and is officially licensed by Sega. You can preorder it now for $18 at Amazon ahead of its September 24 release.
If you prefer hardcovers, IDW has multiple compendiums containing three volumes each. The first hardcover compendium, which has the same stories as the upcoming box set, is available for $33.49 (was $60) at Amazon.
If you want to rewatch the first two films before Sonic the Hedgehog 3 premieres, there are numerous physical editions to choose from, including multiple that come with collectible steelbook cases. Unfortunately, the two-film steelbook collection on 4K Blu-ray recently sold out. You can get collectible editions of the films on their own as well as a standard Blu-ray combo pack.
Shadow the Hedgehog is gearing up for a pretty big year. Not only will he be voiced by Keanu Reeves in Sonic the Hedgehog 3, but he stars in the upcoming Sonic X Shadow Generations, which releases on consoles and PC on October 25. The latest game in the series includes a remastered edition of Sonic Generations and a new story campaign starring Shadow. News - Voice Actors' Union Has Signed Deals With 80 Individual Games As Strike Conti
Actors union SAG-AFTRA, which also represents voice actors, has announced that companies behind 80 games have agreed to its terms over the use of AI, while voice actors and mo-cap performers continue to strike against major industry players. The contracts, which include both tiered-budget and interim agreements, will allow performers more employment opportunities as the strike continues.
The video game actors' strike began on July 26 this year, with the union demanding fair AI protection for its members. At the beginning of the strike, SAG-AFTRA said that studios would need to sign one of three agreements offering "critical AI protections" if they wanted to hire union talent for covered work, which includes all games that started development after September 2023.
Currently, 80 games are covered by one of these agreements, a statistic that SAG-AFTRA says proves its terms are reasonable and fair for businesses. "We applaud those video game companies signing our tiered-budget and interim agreements," said SAG-AFTRA chief negotiator Duncan Crabtree-Ireland. "Not only are they doing the right thing by their workers; they’re also helping to preserve the human art, ingenuity, and creativity that fuels interactive storytelling. These agreements signal that the video game companies in the collective-bargaining group do not represent the will of the larger video game industry."

News - Making A Hogwarts Legacy Sequel Is One Of Warner Bros.' "Biggest Priorities"
In the 18 months since its release, Hogwarts Legacy has emerged as one of the biggest hits of Warner Bros. Discovery's video game division. To date, 24 million copies of the game have been sold across all consoles and PC. Although a follow-up game hasn't been formally announced, WBD isn't being ambiguous about its plans. According to one executive with the company, getting a sequel to the Harry Potter-inspired title is at the top of WBD's wish list.
"[The video game industry] is, just like the film business, a hit-driven business," explained WBD CFO Gunnar Weidenfels via The Hollywood Reporter. "Obviously a successor to Hogwarts Legacy is one of the biggest priorities in a couple years down the road."
Weidenfels didn't offer any other details about a potential Hogwarts Legacy sequel, but his remarks seem to indicate that the next game is still years away at the earliest. The original game was developed by Avalanche Software and the story was set roughly a century before the life of Harry Potter. Players were given the freedom to create their own characters, who are students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and that proved to be very enticing to action RPG gamers.
