News - PlayStation Pulse Explore Wireless Earbuds Are Back In Stock At Amazon
The Sony Pulse Explore Wireless Earbuds launched last November alongside the PlayStation Portal. Finding the popular earbuds (and the Portal) has been a challenge the past few months, but Amazon finally has them back on the menu. Along with the Pulse Explore, there are a few other products you may want to consider, including the Sony Inzone Buds and upcoming PlayStation Pulse Elite Headset. Here's a closer look at what each pair offers. The premium Pulse Explore Earbuds include a charging case, PlayStation Link adapter, and six earbud tips to help you find the right fit. They support dual connections via Bluetooth and the Link USB adapter, allowing you to play on PS5, PC, and Mac. The Pulse Explore Earbuds also come with dual microphones for chat and onboard AI to improve the audio. PlayStation used a sleek white and black design, mirroring the PS5, for its first pair of wireless gaming earbuds The Pulse Elite takes many of the features available on the Pulse Explore and bundles them into a traditional headset. They're designed for use with PlayStation Portal, though you can connect them to your PS5 with a USB adapter (which is included with your purchase). Along with lossless audio, supportive earcups, and a retractable boom mic, the Pulse Elite offers AI noise canceling and comes with a charging hanger for easy storage when not in use. It's compatible with PS5, PC, and Mac and releases on February 21. Preorders are available now. Alternatively, PS5 owners can opt for Sony Inzone Buds, which are designed for PC but work on PS5 with the included USB-C dongle. Offering 12 hours of battery life (24 with the included charging case), 360 Spatial Audio, and a low latency connection via a USB-C dongle, they're a well-rounded pair of earbuds. They also support the Inzone Hub customization software when playing on PC. Be sure to give them a closer look before settling on the Pulse Explore--especially if you game on both PS5 and PC. News - Call Of Duty: MW3 Adds Meme Bundle That Pokes Fun At "Update Requires Restart
The newest Call of Duty DLC bundle is available now, and it's a meme, basically. The centerpiece of the "Insert Coin Mastercraft" bundle for Modern Warfare III and Warzone is the Arcade Rhythm submachine gun, which features an animation on it referencing Call of Duty's infamous "update requires restart" prompt. Call of Duty fans know this prompt all too well, and Activision is now leaning into the meme (and making money off it) with this DLC bundle. The animation not only displays the prompt but it also shows your soldier smashing the A button to advance through it and then throwing their hands out and bashing the weapon to express frustration over the issue. This might be too real for some. Here's the animation in action, courtesy of CharlieIntel. The Insert Coin Mastercaft bundle, which costs 2,400 COD Points ($20), is themed around arcade games. The weapon has a green tracer effect and when you kill an enemy, they fall apart in little green blocks meant to represent pixels from games of old. Continue Reading at GameSpot

News - The Number of 2023 Steam Releases Is Too Damn High
2023 has quickly been inserted into the discussion for the year with the best selection of new game releases, with games like Baldur's Gate 3, The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom, and Alan Wake 2 headlining the year. For Steam users in particular, there's a lot to consider, as reports say over 14,000 games launched on the service last year. SteamDB, an independent site dedicated to analyzing Steam activity, states that 14,535 unique games launched on the platform in 2023, which marks a nearly 2,000-game increase from the previous year. VGC, via Circana (formerly NPD), also notes that Steam's 14,000+ launch figure dwarfs the second-place platform--the Nintendo Switch, which saw 2,360 games added to its library. The number of new releases on Steam is staggering when compared to a decade before; 2013 saw only 435 new Steam games for the entire year. It also nearly doubles the service's output in 2018, when 8,900 games were launched. Continue Reading at GameSpot

News - Apex Legends And Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Crossover Event Allows Any Legend To
Apex Legends players just got a closer look at the game's upcoming collaboration with Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth via a new trailer for the event. The Apex Legends & Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Event was initially announced at 2023's The Game Awards on December 7, though the presentation didn't include many details, leaving fans of both games wondering what exactly the event would entail. According to the new trailer, the new event will give players access to a new limited-time mode, tons of Final Fantasy-themed cosmetic skins, and a new Buster Sword Heirloom Weapon that can be equipped by any legend, making it the first of its kind. The event, which begins on January 9, will feature a new LTM that will replace unranked battle royale mode for the three-week duration of the event. Known as Final Fantasy Takeover, the new mode will see the game's maps littered with Cactuar-themed "Cacticks," special Loot Ticks that provide Materia Hop-Ups when destroyed. Materia Hop-Ups give players access to special buffs, including lightning AoE damage, HP absorption, and an AI-controller SOLDIER Nessie who will aid players in battle. The Final Fantasy Takeover mode will also give players the ability to wield Cloud's Buster Sword, which can be used to deflect bullets, dash, and even perform special Limit Breaks. Of course, no Apex Legends event is complete without cosmetics, and the Apex Legends & Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Event will feature a whopping 36 cosmetic items (standard Collection Events usually include only 24 cosmetics). Applying these cosmetics will give the game's playable characters and weapons a Final Fantasy-themed makeover, with an Aerith skin available for Horizon, a Cloud skin for Crypto, a Moogle-esque skin for Wattson, a Vincent Valentine skin for Wraith, and more.
