Fight Crab Dev Explains Why The Game Is About Crabs Fighting
One upcoming Switch game we’re looking forward to getting our claws on this September is Fight Crab.
In this title, two crustaceans enter an arena and only one comes out the victor. So how did this concept come about and why are crabs the star of the show? In an email interview with USgamer recently, Japan-based indie developer Masafumi “Nussoft” Onuki explained how the idea was to make a physics-based game and crabs were simply the best fit for it:
“I wanted to make a physics-based fighting game along the lines of Totally Accurate Battle Simulator or Gang Beasts, but when you have physics with humanoid models they always come out unstable and it turns into a gag game. Crabs on the other hand are flat and have lots of legs, which makes them perfect for something like this and it frees up the arms for more in-depth combat”
It wasn’t just this reason crabs were selected, it’s because “they’re cool” as well, according to Onuki. Inspiration was also taken from a mixture of kaiju movies (such as Godzilla), anime, and nature documentaries featuring – you guessed it – crabs.
Fight Crab scuttles onto the Switch eShop on 15th September. Will you be shelling out for it? Tell us below.
Those looking to sink their teeth into another year of the highs and lows of football management are going to need to wait a bit longer. Developer Sports Interactive has confirmed that Football Manager 2021 has been delayed due to the disruptive impact of COVID-19.
"What I can confirm today is that, despite all the problems going on in the world, there will be new Football Manager games released later this year," Studio director Miles Jacobson said in a recent statement. "They will be delivered a little later than we'd originally planned, but they'll have exceptionally strong feature sets… albeit different to those we thought we'd settled on back in January when I completed my 'dream feature set'."
Considering the last five entries in the series have all launched in November, it's a safe bet to assume that this was the original plan before the current situation put paid to that.
Top 5 Python Freelancer Jobs to Earn $51 per Hour on Upwork or Fiverr
Python freelancers earn $51 per hour on average. But how do they do it? In the following video I show you the top five trending gigs for Python freelancers:
In summary, these are the most trending jobs how Python freelancers earn money in 2020:
Create educational content:. You can write blog articles for blog owners, write ebooks for publishers, or create full video courses for education companies. These gigs usually require that you’re dedicated to teaching and you’re willing to learn. But the payoff can be huge—because you learn new things, increase your value to the marketplace and get paid in the process.
Become a consultant. If you have mastered the freelancing platforms, it often becomes a good idea to leave those platforms because they take a hefty 20% cut from your earnings. You can position yourself as an independent consultant and offer your services to big companies and business owners without intermediaries. Over time, more and more consulting opportunities will present themselves to you. Just work on your skills and contribute!
Develop websites. Python has great web development back-end functionality. You can master Django, Flask, and MySQL databases for Python. Then, you can develop websites for individuals and companies and sell them. If you streamline the process, you can earn significant money for relatively little time because the process of creating a website can be 10x faster for experienced coders that optimize processes.
Create machine learning models. Many companies have huge amounts of training and testing data. They need better models. So, they hire 20-30 machine learning engineers to create models that maximize accuracy and minimize variance. Then, they take the best one. This can be a massive opportunity for you because machine learning is here to stay.
Visualize data and create dashboards. The internet of thing is a growing beast. Business owners must observe data from various sources that may change dynamically. A great way of accomplishing this are dashboards. In Python, you can easily create dashboards using the Dash library from Plotly. If you master this rapidly growing technology, you’ll have plenty of work in the upcoming decade.

GTA 5 Online Offering Bonuses On Arena War And Survival Series This Week
Grand Theft Auto V has announced this week's bonuses, discounts, and Lucky Spin prize car, and if you're a fan of Survival Series of Arena War you're in luck. These modes will pay out higher than usual this week, so they're worth jumping into if you need more GTA$.
The Horde Mode-style Survival Series is paying out double rewards all week long, so you'll be rewarded for enduring at a better rate than usual. Arena War, the game's large-scale destruction derby-style mode, is paying out double RP and GTA$, but it's also giving players triple Arena Points this week.
By competing, you can also get 50% off the Apocalypse variant for any vehicles that can be used in this mode.
The Lucky Wheel at the Diamond Casino and Resort can win you a Dinka Sugoi this week, a hatchback without quite as much oomph as some of the game's other cars, but still a classy little vehicle. Of course, you'll have to rely on luck to land it.
Challenge. Mystery. The Nine. Deserts, cubes, and… whiteboards? Earlier this week, we did a deep dive on our newest Dungeon, featuring some behind the scenes developer commentary. Did you miss it? Well, let’s fix that. Hit the jump for a recap!
These are some of our favorite streams to host. We’ve opened the minds of our designers to bridge the gap between Guardian and developer and get you into their headspace. If you’re not in a place where you can watch a stream, we also released a companion blog article. What does it take to build out a dungeon? How do these ideas come about? And most importantly, how many lines did Jon To write to stay occupied when quarantine began?
I don’t think I’ve ever put that many questions into a single intro, but it’s fun to embrace the chaos, isn’t it?
Ironheads
Lord Saladin returns to host the second Iron Banner of the Season. Before we get too deep, if you haven’t heard of the Iron Banner, let’s give you a quick lesson. First, get your Power up. This activity offers Power-enabled combat in the Crucible, so that means your opponents might have an edge if they’re five (or more) Power above you. Second, snag weekly bounties from Lord Saladin in the Tower before jumping in. You can earn some pinnacle power gear when completing their objectives! Third, capture the zones. The more zones you hold, the more points you get whenever you defeat an enemy. Fourth, stick with your teammates. While being a lone wolf can be fun, hunting with the pack can yield the best results.
During Saladin’s last visit, two Legendary weapons made their return with random rolls in tow. The Fool’s Remedy Sidearm and Forward Path Auto Rifle pack a pretty good punch in the Crucible. I’ve personally gotten around 400 Guardian defeats with my trusty sidearm; maybe you’ll find a good roll that fits your playstyle.
And if you’re searching for some enhanced armor mods, or armor pieces with high stat rolls, now’s a great time to jump in for some PvP action. These rewards can drop simply from playing matches, or turning in tokens to Saladin between matches.
Iron Banner will be available from 10 AM on August 4 through 10 AM on August 11.
Hotfix Preview
Next Tuesday, we’ll have a fresh hotfix to address some issues that were introduced in Destiny 2 Update 2.9.1. While Destiny Player Support will have a run-through of patch times below, we have a quick preview of patch notes for you.
Nightfall: The Ordeal
Fixed an issue where the Ordeal version of Lake of Shadows was inaccessible at tiers above Adept for players who do not own Forsaken.
Fixed an issue where the Festering Core Master Nightfall was listed as 1080 Power in the Director, but was actually 750 Power.
Guardians should expect a much greater challenge when engaging with this strike.
Raids
Leviathan rewards of XP, Glimmer, and chances towards Exotic Engrams or Bright Engrams are now back on a weekly lockout.
Note: Weapons and armor are not affected by the weekly lockout, and can be earned multiple times a week.
Investment
Fixed an issue where some players could not acquire the “Means to an End” quest from the Prismatic Recaster.
Armor
Fixed an issue where Ruinous Effigy could trigger the heal from the Stronghold Titan Exotic armor while blocking with the carry object.
Fixed an issue where Umbral stat Focused engrams could provide less than 10 in the selected stat.
We’ll have a few more patch notes in the article next week, but this is a short and sweet update to tackle a few minor issues found over the last few weeks.
Maintaining Course
I don’t think I know many people in the Destiny community who have as much game-related information in their heads as the members of Destiny Player Support. Not only are they keeping track of upcoming fixes and patch timetables, but they’re also an encyclopedia of general information. It can range from the location of a random Dreg to the angle at which skip grenades bounce when hitting a wall.
This is their report.
HOTFIX 2.9.1.2
On Tuesday, August 4, Hotfix 2.9.1.2 will be available to players. Below is a timeline of Destiny 2 maintenance for Hotfix 2.9.1.2:
9 AM PDT (1600 UTC): Destiny 2 service maintenance begins.

KNOWN ISSUES
While we continue investigating various known issues, here is a list of the latest issues that were reported to us in our #Help Forum:
Players who acquire Calcified Light without the Pendulum step of the Growth quest in their inventory will be blocked from completing the quest.
Picking up a Throwing Hammer while holding a Sword will not recharge Titan’s melee ability when running Code of the Devastator.
Enemies in the Hexahedron encounter of the Prophecy Dungeon can stop spawning.
Previously uncensored nicknames on Steam are now being censored.
The Seasons tab of the Director will flash to indicate an available reward when none are there.
For a full list of emergent issues in Destiny 2, players can review our Known Issues article. Players who observe other issues should report them to our #Help forum.
Sugar, Spice, and Just a Little Bit of Nice
Hunting for a movie fitting of receiving the MOTW title can sometimes be a challenge. Every so often, we get crazy footage of raid strategies that end up making mincemeat of cosmic gods. Other weeks, the clear winner is a short film recorded entirely in-game. This week, we’ve got a little bit of PvP hotness from a crafty Hunter, a fun idea for custom games to evoke some nostalgic feels, and an amazing raid save.
Movie of the Week: Knife Test
Honorable Mention: House Rules: Rift
Honorable Mention: Spire of Saves
Want to take a swing at the title? Well, it’s not a title, but a cool emblem. Either way, submit your video to the Creations page on Bungie.net. Make sure your Bungie.net profile is present in the description of your video, or delivery of your emblem may be delayed.
While Moments of Triumph is in full swing, we still have some summer fun on the way. Solstice of Heroes begins in under two weeks! Hard to believe that it’ll be August in less than two days.
Next week, we have Iron Banner to play on Tuesday, and some Solstice details to dive through in the Thursday TWAB. Now it’s time to get started on my solo flawless Prophecy completion. Cozmo will give you an update next week on whether I succeeded, or failed in spectacular fashion. Until then, we’ll see you starside.

Video: Crafting multiplayer maps for casual and competitive play
In this GDC 2018 talk Hi-Rez Studios’ Andrew Yoder describe several design processes he and his team used at Hi-Rez to create the levels for Paladins, a team-based FPS.
Yoder’s talk shed light on the key differences between designing multiplayer levels for casual vs. competitive (i.e. eSports) play, and offered useful examples relevant to fellow level designers.
In addition to this presentation, the GDC Vault and its accompanying YouTube channel offers numerous other free videos, audio recordings, and slides from many of the recent Game Developers Conference events, and the service offers even more members-only content for GDC Vault subscribers.
Those who purchased All Access passes to recent events like GDC or VRDC already have full access to GDC Vault, and interested parties can apply for the individual subscription via a GDC Vault subscription page. Group subscriptions are also available: game-related schools and development studios who sign up for GDC Vault Studio Subscriptions can receive access for their entire office or company by contacting staff via the GDC Vault group subscription page.
Cascadeur is a unique physics based animation system for Linux and Windows (Mac coming soon) that just released into Open Beta. Details of the first Cascadeur beta release:
New core architecture The progress from the CBT to the OBT version may appear subtle on the outside, but on the inside the entire core architecture has been revised. As a result, the hardware efficiency and general performance of Cascadeur have improved considerably. With the new data-driven core design, we are able to optimize the software much easier and eliminate bugs faster in the future.
Improved rig creation One goal of the core redesign was to simplify the rigging process in Cascadeur, by making the rigs adaptable at runtime. We are not there yet, but with the optimized core architecture, we have laid the necessary foundation for moving in this direction. Our long-term endeavor remains to give you instant visual feedback during the entire rigging process. Nevertheless, the new OBT version already offers you improved rig creation tools and other benefits, such as a more user-friendly controller behavior and improved interpolation.
GUI conversion to QML During the past months, we migrated our GUI from the old QWidgets to the new QML standard. This goal has been achieved, and due to this important transition, we could remove several GUI bugs that came with using QWidgets.
Reverse compatibility issues Unfortunately, switching to new core caused issues with reverse compatibility. Due to the optimized architecture, your scenes created in the previous versions of Cascadeur will not work in the OBT version. The problem is that old .casc scenes will load only as joints with baked animation and meshes. However, there are simple ways to transfer them to the OBT version. Please refer to this CONVERSION INSTRUCTION for more information.
Changed license model And last, but not least, we have simplified our licensing model: Any animation created with Cascadeur’s new OBT version can be freely used in commercial games and movies – without asking for Nekki’s permission or paying any license fees.
The future goals of the Cascadeur development team are available on this Trello board roadmap. More details are available in the documentation as well as in their YouTube based tutorial series. You can learn more about Cascadeur and see it in action in the video below.
