News - Pokemon Isle Of Armor: Master Dojo Upgrades Guide

Pokemon Isle Of Armor: Master Dojo Upgrades Guide

The Isle of Armor is the setting of Pokemon Sword and Shield's first expansion, but aside from the Master Dojo--where you'll earn the new Legendary Pokemon Kubfu--the island lacks many of the facilities you'd find around mainland Galar, such as a Pokemon Center and an item shop. And while you can't build a Pokemon Center on the island, you can at least add some more amenities to it.

After you reach a certain point in the story, you'll have the option to upgrade the Master Dojo with additional features and supplies. These upgrades can be rather pricey, but they are generally useful, especially if you have a few thousand Watts to spare. We've broken down what all the Master Dojo upgrades are and how much each costs below.

If you've just picked up a Sword or Shield Expansion Pass, here's how to access the Isle of Armor and how to evolve Galarian Slowpoke. We've also put together a guide explaining how to teach Pokemon to Gigantamax. Even if you don't have the Expansion Pass, you still have a few ways to get the newly added Pokemon without the DLC.

Be Heard – Black Lives Matter

Today is June 19th, a day of growing importance in the United States. It is recognized here as Juneteenth, or Freedom Day. On this date, in 1865, slaves in Texas celebrated as they were told for the first time that they were free, and slavery was no longer permitted. We at Bungie would like to take this opportunity to celebrate Juneteenth with you, no matter where you are around the world.

During an event earlier this month, we spent 8 minutes and 46 seconds in silence to honor the death of George Floyd, and promised that we would commit more time, energy, and money towards the fight against systemic racism. We invite you to join us in that battle by showing your support and making your voices heard.

Today we’re announcing the Be Heard Collectible Pin & Emblem. All profits from the sales of the Be Heard Collectible Pin & Emblem will benefit the Equal Justice Initiative (eji.org). Pre-orders will become available on the Bungie Store starting on Tuesday, June 23, 2020. The exclusive Destiny 2 “Be Heard” emblem will be emailed to you within 24 hours after your order is placed.

Be Heard Collectible Pin

Destiny 2 “Be Heard” Emblem

We know that Guardians in Destiny fight for humanity and hope. And while the real challenges that Black people face are not as easily vanquished as the enemies in our game, we look forward to seeing Guardians come together in this fight as well. As we said before, we are committed to standing up for our Black community; including our developers, fans, and neighbors. Together, we intend to replace injustice with equality wherever we see it. So eyes up Guardians, there’s work to do.

Black Lives Matter.

News - Feature: Best Nintendo Switch Roguelikes, Roguelites And Run-Based Games

Feature: Best Nintendo Switch Roguelikes, Roguelites And Run-Based Games

When it comes to modern video games, there are few more polarising terms than ‘roguelike’. That divisive descriptor draws some players like moths to a flame, while others run a mile at the mere whisper of it.

These days, it often feels like ‘roguelike’–which refers to dungeon crawler Rogue from 1980–is attached to every other indie game released. The label has become so pervasive that it now stands alongside ‘Metroidvania‘ as an increasingly vague (though very handy) shorthand for games with specific mechanics; in this case, games with randomised elements that are approached in one ‘run’. You steadily acquire gear and abilities on the way until you either beat the game (yay!) or die before being sent back to the beginning, stripped of your booty, to try again.

Even if the word turns you off, the range of genres offering roguelike or roguelite (or however you care to designate them) mechanics has become so broad that it’s unlikely that you’ll hate every single one. Many games use a basic run-based structure but let you unlock certain equipment or abilities that persist in subsequent runs, resulting in a less brutal experience if you don’t have the time (or inclination) to simply git good.

So, below you’ll find our picks–in no particular order–of the best run-based games on Switch; roguelikes, roguelites, roguelike-likes and all variations thereof. This sizeable list is subject to change and evolution in the future, so let us know your thoughts and suggestions in the usual place and we’ll continue to hone and tone it over time.

Dead Cells (Switch)Dead Cells (Switch)

Publisher: Motion Twin / Developer: Motion Twin

Release Date: 7th Aug 2018 (USA) / 7th Aug 2018 (UK/EU)

Dead Cells is a masterclass in excellent roguelike design, mixing together nonstop intense action sequences, gorgeous vistas, and an addictive loop of unlocks and rewards into a beautiful experience that no Switch owner will want to go without. There’s dozens, if not hundreds, of hours of content available here, and though some sense of repetition can creep in every now and then, it’s remarkable how fresh Dead Cells can stay through all those hours. This game is a blast to play, full of visual splendor, and packed with things to do; don’t miss out on this one, it’s a must-buy.

Ironcast (Switch eShop)Ironcast (Switch eShop)

Publisher: Ripstone / Developer: Dreadbit

Release Date: 10th Aug 2017 (USA) / 10th Aug 2017 (UK/EU)

A match-three puzzler that manages to juggle a lot of different genres elements, Ironcast is an in-depth and engaging game; uniquely innovative and frustratingly addictive. The various mechanics being fused here make for a game that is endlessly replayable, but not at the cost of becoming repetitive or boring. If you’re looking for a game that can be a good time sink, but can also be comfortably played in short bursts, do yourself a favour and try this one out.

Enter the Gungeon (Switch eShop)Enter the Gungeon (Switch eShop)

Publisher: Devolver Digital / Developer: Dodge Roll

Release Date: 14th Dec 2017 (USA) / 18th Dec 2017 (UK/EU)

Enter The Gungeon is a brilliantly tactile, endlessly replayable twin-stick roguelike that sits right up there with the very best indie games on Nintendo Switch. With satisfying combat, random levels, and an endless supply of inventive weapons, items and secrets, it’s always a total joy to play. Yet another modern indie classic has found a natural home on Nintendo’s console.

Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer Featuring The Legend of Zelda (Switch eShop)Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer Featuring The Legend of Zelda (Switch eShop)

Publisher: Nintendo / Developer: Brace Yourself Games

Release Date: 13th Jun 2019 (USA) / 13th Jun 2019 (UK/EU)

Brace Yourself Games has crafted a unique roguelite Zelda game which somehow fits in perfectly with the rest of the family. A transfusion from Crypt of the NecroDancer gives the old top-down template a fresh spin but it still manages to feel like Zelda. Nintendo has gained a fantastic entry in the franchise that feels like a celebration. Cadence of Hyrule is not just a brilliant game, it’s a brilliant Zelda game – one that you won’t want to miss.

Yōdanji (Switch eShop)Yōdanji (Switch eShop)

Publisher: KEMCO / Developer: KEMCO

Release Date: 7th Dec 2017 (USA) / 7th Dec 2017 (UK/EU)

Bite-sized but very tough to chew, Yōdanji is a devilishly tricky roguelike with a fun theme, addictive, goal-based gameplay and massive replay value. Its 21 unlockable characters are the key to the latter, with each yōkai essentially acting as its own unique class, and discovering and trying to master the mechanics of each monster is pure old-school joy. Its anachronistic presentation won’t be for everyone, and clunky controls make for a sometimes confusing crawl, but anyone looking for a tough-as-nails good time with plenty of personality will get more than their money’s worth here.

Darkest Dungeon (Switch eShop)Darkest Dungeon (Switch eShop)

Publisher: Red Hook Studios / Developer: Red Hook Studios

Release Date: 18th Jan 2018 (USA) / 18th Jan 2018 (UK/EU)

Darkest Dungeon has always been an RPG that finds ways to make life uncomfortable for the player, and this Switch version manages to add a couple of usability issues to that list. However, this remains a dauntingly deep, thoroughly absorbing dungeon crawler that will swallow you up for hours at a time.

Unexplored (Switch eShop)Unexplored (Switch eShop)

Publisher: Digerati / Developer: Nephilim game Studios

Release Date: 9th Aug 2018 (USA) / 9th Aug 2018 (UK/EU)

While its overly simplistic art style isn’t going to linger long in the memory, Unexplored‘s unusual approach to balancing combat and map generation certainly will. There’s very little story here to be had, but like any great dungeon crawler, the real adventure is the one you write yourself. With plenty of scope for weaponsmithing and all plenty of permanent perks to unlock to help negate the sting of its permadeath, Unexplored: Unlocked Edition offers danger and delight in equal measure.

Slay the Spire (Switch eShop)Slay the Spire (Switch eShop)

Publisher: Humble Bundle / Developer: Mega Crit

Release Date: 6th Jun 2019 (USA) / 6th Jun 2019 (UK/EU)

Slay the Spire is an endlessly addictive roguelike card-battler that’s a perfect fit for the Switch; a beautifully balanced game that arrived on Nintendo’s system with all the benefits of an extended period of Early Access on PC. Its combination of ferocious battles, entertaining chance encounters and selection of three impressively different player characters make every run to the top a nerve-wracking and totally absorbing affair. Massively inventive sets of cards combine majestically into hugely destructive combos and attack and defence options fuse perfectly together, enabling players to use the information provided by the brilliantly transparent Intent system to strategise endlessly against the hordes of foul monstrosities that stand between themselves and victory.

Sure, you’ll eventually see every enemy and chance encounter and yes, there are a few framerate niggles here and there, but overall this is one dungeon crawler that will live long in our system memories.

Everspace - Stellar Edition (Switch eShop)Everspace - Stellar Edition (Switch eShop)

Publisher: Rockfish Games / Developer: Rockfish Games

Release Date: 11th Dec 2018 (USA) / 11th Dec 2018 (UK/EU)

While reminding us just how much we’d love to see FTL on Switch, Everspace manages to carve out an impressive identity for itself as you warp between sectors steadily increasing your arsenal and skill level. With gratifying space combat, an addictive roguelite core loop and even some light, entertaining writing along the way, it performs admirably – if not flawlessly – on Nintendo’s console. We had a hell of a time with it and this port does a cracking job of preserving the full experience on a handheld.

Moon Hunters (Switch eShop)Moon Hunters (Switch eShop)

Publisher: Kitfox Games / Developer: Kitfox Games

Release Date: 26th Oct 2017 (USA) / 26th Oct 2017 (UK/EU)

Moon Hunters is a wonderful roguelike RPG that is quite unlike anything else available on the Switch, offering a bite-sized, engaging adventure that is extremely replayable and can be enjoyed both alone and with friends. Though there are some issues with the easy difficulty and the occasionally heinous load times, we still give this one a strong recommendation. Moon Hunters offers a lot with a relatively small amount of content, and you’ll likely find yourself revisiting this one for quite some time.

NeuroVoider (Switch eShop)NeuroVoider (Switch eShop)

Publisher: Plug In Digital / Developer: Flying Oak

Release Date: 7th Sep 2017 (USA) / 7th Sep 2017 (UK/EU)

NeuroVoider‘s presentation is a futuristic pixel art masterpiece, while the synth techno soundtrack is varied, tense, moody and constantly thrilling. Failing never becomes dull and whether or not roguelikes, -lites or procedurally generated games float your proverbial boat, NeuroVoider’s addictive, explosive gameplay and vibrant cyborg chic aesthetic will likely win you over. Despite ticking a lot of popular genre boxes, frantic action, satisfyingly tight controls and a wide range of customisation through parts and weapons make it hard to put down.

While the idea of a roguelike RPG shooter might sound like a bit of a mish mash, NeuroVoider is an immensely enjoyable experience if you want to invest time in the customisation or just go in arcade style, all plasma cannons and laser beams blazing.

New Samurai Shodown DLC Character Is A For Honor Crossover

The third and final DLC character of Samurai Shodown's second season pass has been revealed during the New Game+ Expo livestream. The Warden, from Ubisoft competitive melee brawler For Honor, arrives on June 24 on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, Stadia, and Xbox One.

Along with the announcement that the Warden would be joining Samurai Shodown's eclectic roster, developer SNK Corporation shared a trailer showing off what the warrior looks like in-game. The trailer below shows the Warden in all his cel-shaded glory battling several Samurai Shodown fighters. We see a bunch of his moves, hear some Japanese voice lines, and get a peek of some of his finishers.

The Warden will retail for $6 individually. He also comes packaged in Samurai Shodown's Season Pass 2, which costs $14 and includes two additional characters--Iroha and Sogetsu Kazama. The game's first season pass, which features four DLC fighters, retails for $20.

Xbox Wire - Killing Floor 2: Perilous Plunder Summer Event Out Now on Xbox One
Posted by: xSicKxBot - 06-23-2020, 07:24 PM - Forum: Xbox Discussion - No Replies

Killing Floor 2: Perilous Plunder Summer Event Out Now on Xbox One

Continuing the time-honored summer tradition for the third year in Killing Floor 2, we’ve returned with a vengeance to once again bring you the frights and delights of the Summer Sideshow with our Perilous Plunder content update. We’re bringing you a carousel of value-packed deeper than a funnel cake with a new community map, a quadruple threat of weapons, Steampunk Matriarch boss fight variant, quality of life improvements, and a special space pirate-themed twist with our cosmetics and outfit bundle.

Killing Floor 2: Perilous Plunder

First up in our weapons lineup is a versatile two-handed cannon that would make even the sturdiest peg leg tremble with excitement. Deceptively simple, the lovingly filigreed Blunderbuss joins the stable for the Demolitionist and Support perks for both widespread destruction and close quarters room-clearing purposes. Loaded with a drum magazine of three rounds, its primary fire lobs a high impact cannonball with a trigger controlled explosive that detonates upon release. Embrace your bowling master fantasies to bounce and knockdown Zeds with child-like glee as you learn to time the explosive for maximum effect. Have Zeds come at you that need to be socially distanced? Have no fear as the secondary fire turns your rounds into a shrapnel blast to terrific effect. As with our previous weapon offerings, this weapon is available at launch for purchase paired with 5 hand-crafted weapon skins to demonstrate your own personal flair.

Killing Floor 2: Perilous Plunder

Next up, what would pirates be without their trusty pistols? To that end, we have the new Glock 18C tailored to the Gunslinger to bring overwhelming force in a tight compact 33 round package. Available in dual-wieldable or single pistol options (for our hook-handed buccaneers), the Glock 18C is perfect for rapid response to anything and everything downrange with an integrated suppressor to reduce recoil at full-auto. It’s yours today to purchase paired with 5 tactical skins options to suit your style. Caution: Overwhelming urges to declare self-identification with the law while in use is expected.

Killing Floor 2: Perilous Plunder

Horzine R&D certainly has outdone themselves this time with the latest prototype weaponry fresh off the 3D printer. For one scientist, the standard Boomstick didn’t quite live up to the potential of its moniker and found the Doomstick was a touch gauche. He modified the 12 gauge shell to pack in 8 pellets of explosive entertainment to form the HRG Kaboomstick for the Demolitionist and fill the fevered dreams of slayers worldwide. Finally ‒ and not to be underestimated ‒ is the ecologically friendly HRG Teslauncher for Berserker; firing modified microwave rounds paired with an underslung EMP grenade launcher. The only footprint you’ll be leaving is in the coarse leathery posterior of the panicked burning enemies fleeing from your sight.

Killing Floor 2: Perilous Plunder

What new playground of pain might these instruments of terror be employed? How about an abandoned black ops military base nestled deep in the jungle in an undisclosed location. There you’ll find communication centers, firing ranges, vehicle repair bays, and the inspiring and misunderstood world of applied transcontinental shipping container logistics. Third place winner of the community map survival mode group, the map may be called Desolation but it’s anything but barren.

Killing Floor 2: Perilous Plunder

We have a new batch of seasonal objectives ready for you to complete by July 7 and for your troubles, we’ll provide you with an adorable Space Monkey Backpack to join you on your swashbuckling adventures this Summer. Those dedicated to the cause will also be rewarded with Summer Sideshow Tickets to redeem for more Space Pirate accessories to reign supreme within the fashion floor. Show the world who’s the captain now by completing the assemble with the Space Pirate Outfit available to purchase alongside this update’s treasure trove of cosmetic options.

Here at Tripwire, it is our pleasure to continue to support this game almost three years after launch and to provide you with fun new content that you can enjoy and play even during these difficult times. Stay safe and healthy everyone and see you all on the Killing Floor.

The Perilous Plunder update is free and available now for Killing Floor 2 players on Xbox One.

Only a month ago, the first Zed outbreak from the original KILLING FLOOR ripped through London; now the Zeds are everywhere. Civilization is in disarray, communication networks have failed, governments have collapsed, and military forces have been systematically eradicated. The people of Europe are now focused on self-preservation, the lucky few who survived having gone into hiding. But not all have given up hope; a motley group of civilians, soldiers, and mercenaries have banded together to fight the Zed outbreaks from bases across Europe. When an outbreak is detected, the players are sent into Zed-laden hot zones to exterminate all threats using whatever means necessary. Welcome to the Killing Floor. KEY FEATURES: • Xbox One Exclusive Content – Spray zeds with liquid nitrogen and shatter them to pieces with the Freezethrower, an Xbox One exclusive weapon for the Survivalist Perk. Facebook prepares to wage war over release of Gaming app on iOS

There’s a battle brewing between Apple and Facebook over on the iOS store. According to The New York Times, Apple has rejected Facebook’s Facebook Gaming app for a fifth time since the social media network announced its existence in March.

The Facebook Gaming app, which has already sailed into the Google Play Store, is supposed to be a dedicated hub for the casual games Facebook offers on its social network. But Apple appears to be strongly opposed to a dedicated app for their existence on its platform.

The New York Times report includes some interesting data points about what Facebook has done to try and get on the App Store, and how Apple’s recent app-rejection is starting to draw the ire of antitrust regulators across the globe. What’s particularly notable is that Facebook already has a small hub for these games in its main Facebook app, but Apple has pushed back against the standalone app, citing Section 4.7 of its app rules.

Section 4.7 allows apps that distribute HTML5 games, but requires that “code distribution is not the main purpose of the app,” and “The code is not offered in a store or store-like interface.” The latter restriction seems to agitating Facebook’s developers. It reports that in the company’s resubmissions, it’s stripped the design of the Facebook Gaming app further and further back to eventually just be a list of games, and yet Apple will not budge.

Don’t Miss: Creating the unique visuals of Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak

In this 2017 GDC session, Blackbird Interactive’s Yossarian King breaks down the use of 2D simulations and 3D graphical presentations to create the visuals of Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak.

King goes over how off-the-shelf and custom particle systems, shaders, post-effects, and lighting were combined to achieve uniquely stylized visuals.

It was an insightful talk that’s definitely still worth watching, so developers shouldn’t miss the opportunity to do so now that it’s freely available on the official GDC YouTube channel!

In addition to this presentation, the GDC Vault and its accompanying YouTube channel offers numerous other free videos, audio recordings, and slides from many of the recent Game Developers Conference events, and the service offers even more members-only content for GDC Vault subscribers.

Those who purchased All Access passes to recent events like GDC or VRDC already have full access to GDC Vault, and interested parties can apply for the individual subscription via a GDC Vault subscription page. Group subscriptions are also available: game-related schools and development studios who sign up for GDC Vault Studio Subscriptions can receive access for their entire office or company by contacting staff via the GDC Vault group subscription page. Finally, current subscribers with access issues can contact GDC Vault technical support.

Marvel's Avengers--All The Benefits Offered In The PS5 Version

Marvel's Avengers has been confirmed for PS5 and Xbox Series X with a free upgrade program, meaning that Iron Man and the gang will be making the jump to next-gen. Some further details about the PlayStation 5 version have come to light, and we now have a better idea of what benefits will be offered by this upgrade.

On the PlayStation Blog, and in a press release we received, various upgrades have been discussed. Next-gen versions will get faster load times, higher resolution, and superior textures, and Crystal Dynamics has also promised that the PS5 version will make use of the DualSense controller's haptic feedback and the system's spatial audio.

PS5 users will also be able to choose between two different modes: Enhanced Graphics Mode and High Framerate Mode. This means you can either play the game in 60FPS with a dynamic 4k resolution, or boost the graphics for "the highest image quality possible." The system's SSD will also allow for much faster texture load-in.
