<p><em>Another week of this Nintendo Life draws to a close, a week that featured the now-customary dose of <a href="http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2020/05/random_check_out_segas_out_run_recreated_in_animal_crossing_new_horizons">community-created Animal Crossing goodness</a>, the steady building of anticipation for <a href="http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2020/05/monolith_softs_takahashi_tetsuya_talks_xenoblade_chronicles_definitive_edition_in_this_translated_famitsu_interview">the next big Nintendo release</a> of the year, and a one-off return this weekend of <a href="http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2020/05/poll_splatoon_2s_splatfest_takes_place_this_weekend_-_are_you_siding_with_team_mayo_or_team_ketchup">a Splatfest that feels somehow familiar</a>.</em></p>
<p><em>Members of Team Nintendo Life have gathered together to discuss our weekend plans, and we’d love for you to join in via our poll and comment sections below. Enjoy!</em></p>
<h2>Liam Doolan, news reporter</h2>
<p>This weekend I’ll be participating in <a href="http://www.nintendolife.com/games/nintendo-switch/splatoon_2"><strong>Splatoon 2</strong></a>‘s Splatfest – team ketchup all the way! I can’t remember the last time I played the game…it might have actually been the final Splatfest, in all honesty (I sided with team Chaos, from what I recall). Over the next few days I’ll be trying to take out some wins on behalf of Marina with a trusty sauce bottle by my side. I’m also be spending time in <strong><a href="http://www.nintendolife.com/games/switch-eshop/hatsune_miku_project_diva_mega_mix">Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Mega Mix</a></strong>. I finally got around to trying out the demo last weekend and about half an hour later decided to buy the whole thing. If you’ve had fun with rhythm games like <strong><a href="http://www.nintendolife.com/games/ds/elite_beat_agents">Elite Beat Agents</a></strong> in the past, you should enjoy this one as well.</p>

<p>Like many other people this week, I purchased <strong><a href="http://www.nintendolife.com/games/nintendo-switch/nba_2k20">NBA 2K20</a></strong> with a <a href="http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2020/05/grab_nba_2k20_on_sale_for_just_p2_49_on_the_european_switch_eshop">substantial 95% discount</a>. And like many people this week, I woke up the following morning to a big ‘X’ in the middle of the download progress bar which signalled that my micro SD wasn’t big enough to accommodate the 2 kila-gigaplexes of memory space the game requires. Consequently, I likely <em>won’t</em> be playing NBA 2K20 and it’ll join the shameful pile of games I’ve bought and never even opened.</p>
<p>In fact, beyond a quick 15-minute visit to my <strong><a href="http://www.nintendolife.com/games/nintendo-switch/animal_crossing_new_horizons">Animal Crossing: New Horizons</a></strong> island to do my rounds, it’s possible I may not get to squeeze in any gaming this weekend. Life’s just been a tad too hectic of late. Too hectic to play <strong><a href="http://www.nintendolife.com/games/switch-eshop/streets_of_rage_4">Streets of Rage 4</a></strong>, even. <em>Now that’s when you know you’re in dire straits!</em></p>
<p>However, if I magically get a couple of hours to myself, I’ll probably use them to revisit a couple of classics. The <a href="http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2020/05/feature_perfect_dark_turns_20_-_the_definitive_story_behind_the_n64_hit_that_outclassed_james_bond">anniversaries of</a> <strong><a href="http://www.nintendolife.com/games/n64/perfect_dark">Perfect Dark</a></strong> and <strong><a href="http://www.nintendolife.com/games/wii/super_mario_galaxy_2">Super Mario Galaxy 2</a></strong> have come around, and I’ve got a hankering to play them both. We shall see…</p>
<h2>PJ O’Reilly, reviewer</h2>
<p>This weekend I’ll be getting stuck into <strong><a href="http://www.nintendolife.com/games/switch-eshop/journey_to_the_savage_planet">Journey to the Savage Planet</a></strong> for review purposes, a game I’ve played already on PS4 and I’m very interested so see how this Switch port manages to hold up, fingers crossed it’s a solid job as the game itself really is excellent stuff. Elsewhere I’ve been enjoying my first ever playthrough of <strong><a href="http://www.nintendolife.com/games/nintendo-switch/wonderful_101_remastered">The Wonderful 101</a></strong>, which I’m really impressed with so far, as well as managing my newly developed addiction to Hatsune Miku. I’ve been singing Po Pi Po out loud around the house for a solid week now and it’s doing absolutely nothing good for lockdown tension levels over here. Hope you are all staying safe and have a good one!</p>

<p>Physical game arrivals placed <strong><a href="http://www.nintendolife.com/games/switch-eshop/dark_devotion">Dark Devotion</a></strong> and <strong><a href="http://www.nintendolife.com/games/switch-eshop/blossom_tales_the_sleeping_king">Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King</a></strong> on my playlist for this weekend. The eShop again does not disappoint with the likes of <strong><a href="http://www.nintendolife.com/games/switch-eshop/arrest_of_a_stone_buddha">Arrest of a stone Buddah</a></strong>, <strong><a href="http://www.nintendolife.com/games/switch-eshop/pushy_and_pully_in_blockland">Pushy and Pully in Blockland</a></strong>, <strong><a href="http://www.nintendolife.com/games/switch-eshop/what_the_golf">WHAT THE GOLF?</a></strong> (the best golf game ever made for non-golf persons!) and I can assure you that <strong><a href="http://www.nintendolife.com/games/switch-eshop/awesome_pea_2">Awesome Pea 2</a></strong> lives up to it’s delightful prequel. Of course, despite 60+ days on the island, I still have Animal Crossing: New Horizons on daily rotation. I’ll need to stop by Splatoon 2 – that deja-vu splatfest won’t resolve itself.</p>
<p>Game of the week would have been The Wonderful 101, but guess what? I backed the game and <a href="http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2020/05/platinum_sends_out_blank_switch_codes_to_wonderful_101_kickstarter_backers">still don’t have it on Switch</a>. But I’m more than happy to give the award at this time to the fantastic <strong><a href="http://www.nintendolife.com/games/switch-eshop/red_wings_aces_of_the_sky">Red Wings: Aces of the Sky</a></strong>. Fly true, <em>petite rouge</em>!</p>
