Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Gets First Weekly Event This Weekend
<p>Nintendo has <a href="https://twitter.com/NintendoVS/status/1072906539302707200">announced</a> the first in-game event for its new Switch fighting game, <a href="https://www.gamespot.com/super-smash-bros-ultimate/">Super Smash Bros. Ultimate</a>. The three-day event is scheduled to kick off this Thursday night, December 13, and will make certain Spirits appear more frequently in the game's Spirit Board mode.</p><p>The event is dubbed "Spectacled Spirits," and it focuses on Spirits who are wearing glasses. Throughout the weekend, bespectacled game characters such as Jeff from <a href="https://www.gamespot.com/earthbound/">EarthBound</a>, Brittany from <a href="https://www.gamespot.com/pikmin-3/">Pikmin 3</a>, and others will be featured on the Spirit Board. The next Splatfest in <a href="https://www.gamespot.com/splatoon-2/">Splatoon 2</a> is also set to take place this weekend. That event kicks off on Friday, December 14, at 8 PM PT / 11 PM ET and will run for 24 hours.
