SteamDolls – Order of Chaos is a new, upcoming Metroidvania hoping to launch on Nintendo Switch. Resist the urge to litter our comment section with ‘urgh, another Metroidvania’, though, because this one is already showing quite a lot of promise.
Described as a steampunk-inspired Metroidvania game with “a grimy touch of brutality”, this one has you losing yourself inside a labyrinthine city full of secrets and madness, aiming to reveal the truth lurking in the shadows. A description for the game says, “you know but four words: Action, Exploration, Stealth, and Blood”. Ooer.
Perhaps one of the biggest selling points at this early stage is the fact that David Hayter (voice of Metal Gear‘s Solid Snake) plays the game’s protagonist, known as The Whisper. You’ve watched the trailer up above by now, right?
A Kickstarter campaign will be going live in June – you can actually see the page already here – with a full release for the game planned for 2021 on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and of course Switch.
