Update: Microsoft has now confirmed that production on both the Xbox One X and Xbox One S All-Digital Edition will be stopped in the lead up to the Xbox Series X launch. The Xbox One S will continue to be sold.
"As we ramp into the future with Xbox Series X, we're taking the natural step of stopping production on Xbox One X and Xbox One S All-Digital Edition," Microsoft spokesperson told The Verge. "Xbox One S will continue to be manufactured and sold globally."
The move paves the way for Microsoft to establish a new lineup of consoles with the Xbox One S as the budget-priced model and Xbox Series X as a higher-priced alternative. Although it has not announced the model yet, Microsoft is widely expected to launch a cheaper version of the Series X that's codenamed Lockhart.
