Guns, Gore & Cannoli 2 revives the good, old, action platform run & gun genre, but this time with a bunch of humor and buckets of blown off body parts. In this sequel to Guns, Gore & Cannoli, Vinnie Cannoli?s story continues and this time it?s personal.
While the arrival of a magazine focused on game development is a welcome sight, it’s particularly notable because Wireframe will be getting a print run in the UK.
The mag will be released every fortnight, and will dive into how games are made, who makes them, and how readers can go about building their own games.
The first print issue is free (or at least, 10,000 copies are), but will retail for £3 per issue in the UK going forward. If paper doesn’t float your boat anymore, the magazine will also be available online free of charge — making it more accessible if you don’t fancy forking out for overseas shipping.
“Magazine publishing can be a challenging environment; it demands innovation if it’s to have a future, and doing things a little differently has certainly paid dividends with our other magazine titles to date,” said Raspberry Pi CEO, Eben Upton.
“Wireframe is a vote of confidence in computer games journalism, strengthened by a fortnightly model that will enable us to be more responsive, and a free web version to suit a generation used to consuming free online content.”
Epic Games secures $1.25 billion from multiple investors
Epic Games, the engine maker and game developer-publisher behind Fortnite, has secured $1.25 billion in funding from investors KKR, ICONIQ Capital, Smash Ventures, aXiomatic, Vulcan Capital, Kleiner Perkins, and Lightspeed Venture Partners.
It’s a deal that will see each of those investors join Tencent, Disney, and Endeavor as minority shareholders in Epic, which continues to be led by CEO and co-founder Tim Sweeney.
The company didn’t specify exactly how the cash will be spent. Instead, Epic (rather vaguely) suggested it’ll be looking to “reinforce its position of leadership in real-time 3D technology,” while also accelerating its ability to “improve the way people play, work, and interact with the world.”
Starter Tips for SoulCalibur VI, Available Now on Xbox One
Welcome back to the Stage of History and prepare to take part in a story of souls and swords! SoulCalibur VI stands as the standard of 3-D weapon-based fighting and continues its long-standing tradition of iconic characters, including new ones, such as Geralt of Rivia as a special guest character. The formidable protagonist from The Witcher series joins our cast of the legendary fighters and is prepared to battle all those who stand in his way. However, before we get into battling with these brave warriors, lets train with our souls and learn the skills, movements, and what it takes to end the struggle between sword and soul!

Movement
The key to mastering any fighting game is to first understand the movement of the characters. With the 8-way run system, SoulCalibur VI demonstrates itself as a true 3D fighter. Make use of the directional pad or analog stick to move across the ring with ease. A quick tap in any direction will perform a short step for precise movement, allowing for quick strikes or dodges. Holding a direction enables swift, continuous movement. Make use of these features to take a more defensive approach, or rush towards your foe with an all-out offensive of attacks.
Basic Attacks
SoulCalbur VI has three basic attacks: Horizontal, Vertical, and Kick. Combining these attacks with directional inputs, jumping, dashing, crouching, and sidestepping, opens-up even more attack strings and combos. Spend time experimenting with different combinations of Low, Middle, and High attacks to unleash deadly combos.

Guarding
It’s vital to keep up a good defense to avoid the opponent’s offensive attacks. Holding the Guard button allows you to block attacks, but you must pair this block by either standing or crouching.
There are three basic levels of attacks in SoulCaliburVI: Low, Middle, and High. Middle and High attacks can be blocked while standing, but this leaves you open to Low attacks, which can only be blocked while guarding in a crouch. However, this leaves you open to Middle attacks; High attacks will miss anyone that is crouching. So, when facing a skilled opponent, you must learn to anticipate when they will mix up their attacks so that you can block successfully and prepare for your counter-offensive.
Guard impacts are a unique move in SoulCalibur VI that allow you to repel an enemy attack and leave them open to a counter. You can execute a guard impact by pressing forward on directional pad and the A button. Just make sure that you time it correctly right when your enemy is beginning their attack!
Training
SoulCalibur VI is equipped with a fully-featured Training mode for you to study the many fighting styles in store for you. Hop in anytime to perfect your timing, combos, and spacing! See you in the ring!
SoulCalibur VI fighting mechanics through and through will keep you immersed in the game for a long time to come. Whether it’s the mastery of the basic attacks or the new feature and intricacies of the guard impacts, honing these skills will be vital towards challenging all fearsome foes old and new. Now take the stage, utilize and leverage your edge in battle, and claim your place in history in SoulCalibur VI today!
Epic Games Closes $1.25 Billion Investment Deal Thanks To Success Of Fortnite
If it wasn’t already evident, the free-to-play title Fortnite has a been a huge success for Epic Games.
In the latest news, Epic has closed a $1.25 billion investment deal with a group of private equity backers. KKR, ICONIQ Capital, Smash Ventures, aXiomatic Gaming, Vulcan Capital, Kleiner Perkins and Lightspeed Venture Partners are now the newest minority shareholders in the company. Existing partners include Tencent, Disney and Endeavor.
A KKR representative said the special group of investors were thrilled to support Epic’s dedicated team and passionate community of players. Epic Founder and CEO Tim Sweeney said the new partnerships reinforced his company’s position of leadership in real-time 3D technology and would accelerate the way people play, work and interact with the world. According to the Wall Street Journal, the deal values Epic Games at $15 billion, with the overall sales for the game this year expected to top $4 billion.
Sweeney originally founded Epic in 1991 in his parent’s basement. Fortnite quickly became a cultural phenomenon when the battle royale mode was added during the latter development phase of the game in 2017. In 2012, 40 percent of Epic was sold to the Chinese internet company Tencent Holdings which has since led to more partnerships.
Over the years, there have been plenty of prototype Nintendo systems, controllers and accessories publicly revealed. If you think you’ve seen them all, perhaps not. Ars Technica reports how a recent listing on a Japanese auction site has shed light on a rare Wii Remote prototype designed for the GameCube.
The controller sold for 74,000 yen ($663 USD) and came paired with an early Nunchuk prototype and a longer and slightly different looking sensor bar that plugged directly into the memory card slot. The source notes how the remote is wired to the system with a GameCube controller connector – unlike the final version of the Wii Remote which was wireless. The earlier iteration of the Nunchuk seemingly used an ethernet cable and the entire setup is reliant on the same IR sensor bar technology that eventually shipped with the Wii. At this point in time, the auction’s winner has not been able to get the GameCube Wii Remote running on any of his own hardware and is yet to inspect the controller’s internals.
If you’re unsure about the legitimacy of this prototype, WayForward Director James Montagna has issued a number of tweets reaffirming its existence. He explained how he first saw it back when the Wii was still being referred to as the Revolution. Montagna also noted how all of the buttons on this earlier prototype model were lifted straight from the Game Boy Advance SP. The discussion prompted him to post more recognisable prototype images of the Wii Remote that were closer to the final product and originally shown around the time of E3 2006.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Cheat Codes: How To Find And Activate Them
Rockstar Game's latest release, Red Dead Redemption 2 on PS4 and Xbox One, is a game where you'll want to spend a great deal of time uncovering all of its secrets and details. You can spend 50-plus hours just completing the main story, slowing accumulating wealth and honor. But if you're someone looking for a shortcut--who wants to find a quick path to success while living the life of an outlaw in the last days of the wild west--we've got you covered. Much like the original game and GTA V, Red Dead 2 features an assortment of cheat codes that unlock additional resources, with some injecting odd gimmicks and quirks into your game.
To find the Cheats menu, press the pause button and select the Settings option. In this menu, press Triangle or Y (on PS4 and Xbox One, respectively) to pull up the Cheats menu. From here, you'll find a long list of locked cheats. Initially, you won't know what any of these do or how to unlock them. Many of these codes can be activated by putting in the correct phrase, but others will require some extra time and effort.
In addition to finding passwords while exploring the world, some of which are written into the ground, throughout the game you'll find newspapers for sale in towns, and some of these offer clues as to how to unlock these extra fun options. More newspapers will become available after completing main missions, which you'll see detailed in news articles. While many of these cheats introduce some mostly benign bits of fun--such as keeping your character, Arthur Morgan, perpetually drunk--activating these codes at any time will have some consequences for your save game. Once you activate these codes, all Trophies and Achievements will be deactivated on this particular file. As a result, before trying any of these codes, be sure to make a separate file for your main save.
With over 30 codes to unlock, some of which have some specific requirements, we've collected a list of cheats that we've uncovered thus far. We also have a separate feature discussing some of the most entertaining and best cheats in Red Dead Redemption 2. Be sure to check back with GameSpot as we update this page with new codes, and how to find them.

Red Dead 2 is now available on PS4 and Xbox One. If you want to hear more of our thoughts on Rockstar's expansive open-world western, check out our full Red Dead 2 review. We've got much more in store for the game in the coming weeks, which includes our new recurring series QuickDraw. For now, take a look at our round-up of fascinating and interesting facts the game doesn't outright tell players, and along with other useful tips you should know.
Does Red Dead Redemption 2 Require You To Play The First Game?
Red Dead Redemption 2's release date has finally arrived, and you can read all about in our Red Dead 2 review. As with any game with a "2" attached to it, newcomers might be wondering if they'll understand what's going on, while returning players are eager to know if the new game will feature callbacks and references to the first game.
A number of GameSpot editors have spent considerable time with Red Dead Redemption 2 so far, and in our experience, Rockstar has done a pretty good job of making sure everybody will have a good time with this one whether you're familiar with the first game or not.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is a prequel that features an entirely new character, Arthur Morgan, in the starring role. You play as a member of the Van der Linde gang, the group of outlaws referenced in the first Red Dead Redemption and led by a man named Dutch. Characters from the first game like Bill Williamson and Javier Escuela are in your gang, while Red Dead Redemption 1 protagonist John Marston also plays a role in the story. The sequel provides clues about how John got his scar, while other characters make fun of his inability to swim.
It won't affect your enjoyment of interacting with the gang if this is your first introduction to them, but seeing them at a different point in their respective lives and witnessing the things that happen to them which ultimately shape the people they become in Red Dead Redemption 1 is a great treat for fans of the series.
As far as the game world is concerned, Red Dead Redemption 2's map includes a number of locations from the first game. We found it was fun to revisit these places, while newcomers are also in for a treat to see them for the first time and looking better than ever.
It's at the later stages of the game when returning players are rewarded for their prior investment. We won't get into spoilers here.
Whether or not you've played Red Dead Redemption 1, you should be able to enjoy the sequel. Rockstar plays the balancing act between rewarding series fans and not alienating newcomers pretty well in our experience so far.
