PS Plus Bonus Gets You PS4's PlayStation Now For Cheap
When it comes to the PS4 lately, it seems like PlayStation Plus members have all the fun. Not only do they get free games each month and exclusive deals like the PS Plus Specials sale going on now, but they occasionally get additional special offers. The latest deal for PS Plus members is a 33% discount on the game-streaming service PlayStation Now.
Between now and September 25, PS Plus members who sign up for (or renew) a PS Now membership will get a three-month subscription for $30. That's not a bad deal, considering the normal price is $45. If you sign up, note that the subscription auto-renews unless canceled, and the discount only applies for the first three months. After that, it goes back up to $45.
PS Now is basically Sony's "Netflix for games." It lets you play a selection of over 650 PS4, PS3, and PS2 games by streaming them to your PS4 or PC--which means you don't have to download the games to play them. A solid internet connection certainly helps, though.

Proposal Manager for financial services helps increase win rates
The commercial and corporate lending environment is increasingly competitive and squeezing interest margins for banks and lenders. Bank lending teams must navigate a stream of documents—such as client financials, collateral assets, and regulatory attestations. They must follow protocols that thoroughly analyze the risk attached to a credit facility and income potential of business loans and capital investments. Since lending proposals contain sensitive client information, strict privacy, security, and compliance measures are required. In addition, financial services institutions are hampered by disjointed systems and manual processes that are costly and slow—often leading to inconsistent results, higher error rates, and increased costs.
To win business in this competitive market, lending teams need the right tools to deliver tailored proposals quickly and easily. Built on the Microsoft 365 platform, the Proposal Manager solution is designed specifically for corporate and commercial banks to:
Streamline, automate, and speed up the lending process.
Create more effective proposals.
Collaborate across the bank with strict confidentiality.
The solution was developed by the Microsoft Financial Services team and developers as part of their focus to build vertical-specific solutions. No other cloud productivity providers offer a true banking-specific, end-to-end proposal management solution—architected from the ground up using the Microsoft 365 productivity suite.
The solution is fully customizable and adaptable by your enterprise development team, so your lending team can:
Easily create professional, winning proposals—Save time, sharpen creativity, and present professional commitment letters to increase win rates and improve credit risk management.
Streamline proposal management—Simplify the commercial and corporate loan origination process with integrated, automated, and secure tools for document management while orchestrating team workflows and collaboration. Bank managers can facilitate iterative proposal negotiations while ensuring version consistency, empower relationship managers on the go, and help expedite credit committee approvals.
Improve collaboration and teamwork—Respond to proposals quickly and collaboratively with connected, company-wide communications and collaboration tools. Meet tight deadlines and keep the proposal process moving seamlessly by sharing and collaborating in real-time. Lead proposal reviews and whiteboarding sessions with enterprise-class email, voice, and video.
The numbers don’t lie. The impact a solution like this could have for your firm is significant. A recent Capgemini study found that back-office commercial bank employees spend about 80 percent of their time on repetitive and manual tasks. The same study also cites that automation will provide more than 25 percent in cost savings by automating data-intensive and repetitive tasks. Can you imagine what all your employees could achieve if their time were freed up to tackle other revenue-generating projects?
The Proposal Manager solution is now available to all Microsoft 365 E5 customers. It’s integrated across existing Microsoft 365 workloads to help you transform your proposal process into an agile, collaborative, secure, and client-centered process without requiring significant IT involvement for deployment.
Sales managers and other business leaders can download the Proposal Manager brochure and engage your IT support and development team to understand more about how the solution can help. IT developers can visit GitHub today to get started.

July Xbox Update begins rolling out
E3 may be in our rear view like a fall leaf in Forza Horizon 4, but we’ve been busy updating the Xbox experience and adding features that you’ve requested. The July Xbox Update adds features that make finding content even easier and offers a host of improvements to Mixer. Here’s what’s new:
FastStart Enabled for Select Titles Announced back at E3 2018, FastStart is a new innovation from our Xbox Platform team that allows you to jump into your games twice as fast and play after downloading just a fraction of it. FastStart works by identifying which files are needed to begin playing and prioritizes the download of those files first, enabling you to quickly jump into full-fidelity gameplay while the remainder of your title downloads in the background. Simply find the FastStart-enabled title you want to play in our catalog, hit ‘Download’ and your console will take care of the rest. It’s that simple. What’s more, it’s now enabled for select English language titles in our Xbox Game Pass catalog, and will expand to more games in more languages over time. You can learn more about FastStart here.
Group Your Games and Apps With so much content available, fans have asked for more options to organize libraries of games and apps. Today, we’re introducing a powerful new enhancement to Pins, which we call “Groups.” With Groups, you can create multiple collections of content made up of anything from within My Games & Apps. You can also assign custom names to each Group, organize and order them, and add individual Groups to Home. Groups will appear across My Games & Apps, Home and Guide, so you’ll be able to access your Groups at a moment’s notice. Best of all, Groups are tied to your Xbox Live account, so they will automatically sync across multiple Xbox One consoles. We’ve started you off with a Group that should look very familiar — your Pins!
More Search Options Searching for content is now even easier! Now pressing the Y button anywhere in the dashboard will bring up the search dialog, allowing you to easily launch your content, sift through Settings, or find products in the Store. This process is found in many apps, but now you can do it anywhere within the dashboard. Not seeing enough results for your search? Hit enter or click the “more results” button to view a full page for your search results.
Mixer Share Controller Improvements We’ve made it easier to use Share Controller on the web. First, we’ve enabled full mouse and keyboard support for PC users, along with Share Controller Key Bindings.
Second, we’ve added multi-touch support for touch-enabled devices. This allows multiple controls to be used at the same time! For example, you can control the joystick and press A at the same time on your touch laptop.
And lastly, we’ve added a per-channel leaderboard that spotlights viewers who have contributed to a streamer’s channel the most during a Share Controller session.
Full Screen Broadcasting on Mixer Mixer streamers can now go full screen with their webcam while broadcasting. You can switch to full screen webcam broadcasting at any time you want. While in this mode game audio is muted, making it perfect for talking to your audience while switching from game to game or setting up before you start playing. You can even do all IRL broadcasts!
For the best experience we recommend using one of these cameras:
Microsoft LifeCam Studio
Logitech HD Pro Webcam C922
Logitech Webcam C930e
Microsoft LifeCam HD-3000
Console broadcasting quality and stability improvements We’ve made a number of changes and fixes to improve overall broadcast video quality. You will now experience improved performance when broadcasting bandwidth-heavy multiplayer.
All of these updates are available because of the Xbox Insiders who have helped shape these features, so big thanks to all of you for your valuable input. If you’d like to help create the future of Xbox and get access to early features, download the Xbox Insider Hub app on your Xbox One or Windows 10 PC. You can also visit the Xbox Insider blog here for the latest release notes and to learn more. Happy gaming!
iOS 12’s Siri Shortcuts app goes live for developers only
By Roger Fingas Thursday, July 05, 2018, 11:22 am PT (02:22 pm ET)
Developers can now request access to an early version of Apple’s Shortcuts app, which lets iOS 12 owners create custom automations triggered through Siri.
Access is restricted to developers only, and people accepted for testing must install the app through TestFlight. In release notes, Apple cautions that “limited actions” are currently available, and won’t sync via iCloud.
In fact the Shortcuts beta has several known issues, others being that some actions won’t appear when running custom shortcuts in Siri, and it can’t yet open apps when a device is locked. Apple also notes that shortcuts provided to the INVoiceShortcutCenter suggested shortcuts API are not available when viewing an app’s actions in Shortcuts.
The promise of Shortcuts is the expansion of automation beyond HomeKit to every aspect of iOS, so long as developers enable hooks in their own titles. During Apple’s WWDC keynote in June, the company used the example of a custom “I’m heading home” phrase for Siri, which automatically texted a contact with a preset message, adjusted a HomeKit thermostat, turned on a fan, presented estimated travel time, and started playing NPR. In iOS 11, this would require several separate commands.
The concept is similar to the skills and routines baked into Amazon’s Alexa. To develop its own equivalent Apple bought out Workflow, which allows automations akin to Shortcuts but more limited.
One Deck Dungeon expands its hero roster with the Witch
By Ian Boudreau05 Jul 2018
There’s some new DLC to pick up for One Deck Dungeon, the card-driven roguelike that popped up just back in June. A warm welcome to The Witch, a new magic-user who Handleabra says is a bit of a “jack of all trades.”
Witches usually get associated with damp places like swamps and bogs, but in the lore of One Deck Dungeon, they seem to be pyromaniacs who all study their trade in a volcanic city called Inanidec. Syvir, our new Witch, is supposed to be “more anarchic than Mages, and more chaotic than Alchemists,” and she excels in both spellcasting and melee combat.
The Witch DLC just launched July 4, and she joins two new characters, the Fanatic and a faerie called Caliana, and two new dungeons, the Phoenix Den and the Cinder Plains, in One Deck Dungeon’s DLC lineup. Each can be had for 99 cents US or your local equivalent.
If you haven’t tried this excellent conversion of the tabletop dice game yet, check out our five-star review.
Useful Rust Console Commands for the Average Player and Admin
For the first few months of Rust's "experimental" development, most player variables such as the nudity censor and mouse sensitivity were controlled only by console commands (aka "cvars"). Thankfully, most of these controls are now in the game menu for your tweaking pleasure. Simply hit the escape key and open the options tab!
While it's now easier to edit many things, console commands still come in handy. Below is a list of use Rust console commands for both players and admins.
Note: 1=true and 0=false. These may be used interchangeably when entering console commands that have an "on or off" state.
perf
The long running replacement for fps.graph, perf is the Newman's go-to tool for figuring out how much abuse their PC is under. This tool has two (viable) options "perf 1" & "perf 2". Perf 1 will display FPS only while Perf 2 will show you FPS + RAM usage.
Perf 2 readout in the bottom left of the players screen.
fps.limit -1
Sometimes you don’t need the most frames per second that your computer can put out. Although it’s probably very rare that anyone would need this in Rust at the moment, its good to know it’s there for the future. -1 is the default value and that puts no limit on FPS but you can set it as high or low as desired.
censornudity true - the default
censornudity true/false
The censor can easily be turned on and off through the options menu these days. That being said, there is just no substitute for telling a friend to type "censornudity false" into console and hearing their screams of horror as their screen is filled with literal dicks.
kill
Rust is a harsh game to say the least. Sometimes your best course of action is to just to say screw it and start fresh. Typing "kill" in console will get this done instantly. There is a 60 second cooldown when using this command. Binding keys
A very useful function that serves the purpose of binding various actions such as attack, crouch and the standard movement actions into one keybind. This can be particularly useful with reducing the grindy feeling that Rust conveys on occasion. Some useful binds are as follows:
bind m attack;duck - Dubbed the AutoMine bind, it automatically uses the attack action in conjunction with crouch - giving you more time to look around your surroundings more efficiently and ultimately allowing you to survive longer.
bind q forward;sprint - Simply this is an auto running bind which concurrently presses w and shift without you pressing the buttons themselves thus giving you opportunity to concentrate on your surroundings or finishing off your sunday roast (yum).
I recommend you take a look here. This will give you insight into the potential of ultimately making Rust easier in all areas such as attacking, time efficiency and generally allowing you and I to be lazier.
client.connect ip:port
Not seeing the server you want to play on master server list? No worries, this handy command will set you straight (that is, if the server is up and on a compatible version to your client). Note you can also run client.disconnect if you like, which is the same thing has hitting escape and 'disconnect'. server.seed
This command will output the map seed of the server you're currently on. The procedural mapping system uses this number to generate the map. With the latest changes you can also get this information from the F1 menu under "system information".
streamermode 0/1
This nifty switch allows you to enter streamer mode. While this is active, most identifying names (you, server, and players) will be changed to something random or be hidden entirely. It's not fool proof, but it should help deter the average stream sniper.
Admin commands
moderatorid STEAMID
This command is used to give someone access to the admin commands. kick NAME
This will kick someone from the server. You don't need the full name, unique partials will work. This also broadcasts a KICKED message to the server. ban
This will execute a kick ban. It will then be broadcast to the entire server. banid STEAMID
This command will ban a user given their SteamID. This is the only kick/ban command that does not broadcast to the rest of the server. server.writecfg
This is a helpful command to force the server to write all bans / moderator id's which have been set to config files (located in the /server/*identity*/cfg folder. The config files do write upon shutdown, however if the server crashes... that will be lost. Therefore, it is smart to run this command after every ban to make sure it sticks. status
This will cause the console to print out a partial list of connected clients along with their ping, ip and steamid. inventory.give ITEM AMOUNT (example: inventory.give wood 1000)
This command allows you to give items to yourself. However with the items menu now being available from the F1 interface, this command is really only useful for spawning massive amounts of resources. The item name needs to be in the short name form or item ID. Oxide has a great list which is updated regularly, check it out here! say "I am server console"
This allows you to speak as SERVER. Note, you need the quotes in to say multiple words. server.globalchat 0
This will make text chat local (meaning only people close to each other can see each others chat messages). This is currently set to 1 by default. env.time 0 - 24
Change the time on the server. 6 = Dawn / 12 = Noon / 18 = Dusk etc teleport "playername"
Rust now has teleport! Just type a partial name or full name. teleportany [entity]
This is a weird one... it allows you to teleport to any entity type of your choosing. For instance, to go to the nearest horse, type: teleportany horse. noclip
Toggles noclip on and off. It's a good idea to bind this to a key (bind L noclip) debugcamera
Breaks the camera away from your character or the player you're spectating and allows you to look around without players seeing you. Hold shift to speed up or spacebar to slow down. This is also a great one to have binded, we suggest using the P key (bind P debugcamera) weather.fog
Changes fog chance to the value you set. Particularly useful in situations when big giants are fighting or to improve picture quality for the aspiring content creators. Weather.fog 0.25 will set the chance to 25%. weather.rain
Like the above this will change the chance of rain on your server which will likely improve FPS but discourage those who value ultimate stealth. Weather.rain 0.38 would set the chance to 38%.
