News - Final Fantasy Producer Not Sure When Or If Mainline Series Will Return To Tur
The debate over the future of Final Fantasy, namely its approach to combat, continues, and this time the question has been put to Final Fantasy XVI producer Naoki 'Yoshi P' Yoshida, who admitted there is no "clear-cut" answer. Final Fantasy XVI was a radical departure from previous installments by being a completely real-time action game, even eschewing command menus present in the action-oriented Final Fantasy XV. During an interview at Anime Expo, Yoshida was asked whether the series would return to a turn-based system, given the recent success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, which was in turn inspired by earlier Final Fantasy games and Persona. "With this question of turn-based versus action, it tends to isolate the gameplay to just the battle system," Yoshida told Anime News Network. "That doesn't take into account what kind of game the creators want to deliver to players. For example, based on a certain graphical quality we want to present to our players, or the narrative we want to deliver to our players, it relates to how we set up the game's systems around it. This includes the battle system, game design, and gameplay feel. It's not a clear-cut answer, whether it will become all turn-based, or if it's going to become more action-based." News - One Two, Freddy's Coming For You In This New 4K Nightmare On Elm Street Colle
The dream-stalking killer demon Freddy Krueger is one of horror's most iconic villains, and for fans who want to snag the full seven-film series in 4K Steelbook format, the upcoming A Nightmare on Elm Street 4K Blu-ray collection is now available to preorder for $175 exclusively through Amazon. A release date and cover art haven't been revealed yet, but we're expecting the box to be a gruesome delight for fans of the horror film series. While the first Nightmare on Elm Street was remastered in 4K not too long ago, this is the first time that the rest of the film series has been upgraded to ultra-high definition. Inside the box, you'll find steelbook editions of all seven films featuring unique art, a numbered certificate of authenticity, and 3D glasses (likely for the final film in the series, Freddy's Dead, which was filmed in 3D). Bonus features haven't been confirmed, but we expect this collection to include much of the extra content from previous Nightmare on Elm Street Blu-rays. A Nightmare on Elm Street earned its spot on the Mount Rushmore of slasher movies when it first debuted in the '80s. The antagonist of the movies, Freddy Krueger, was almost unstoppable as he claimed victims from inside their dreams, effectively scaring them to death. A serial killer who struck from beyond the grave, Krueger--as played by actor Robert Englund--cemented his status as one of the greatest horror movie characters of all time alongside icons like Friday the 13th's Jason Voorhees and Halloween's Michael Myers. If you don't want to wait for the new 4K Steelbook collection and are fine with the films in 1080p, you can also grab the previously released A Nightmare on Elm Street Blu-ray collection. The set includes all seven movies on Blu-ray disc along with a ton of extra content like retrospectives, documentaries, and two episodes of the Freddy's Nightmares anthology horror series hosted by Krueger himself. A 4K version of the original A Nightmare on Elm Street is also available. Continue Reading at GameSpot

News - Umamusume: Pretty Derby Creators Share Guidelines For Fans Who Want To Visit
The unique hook to the anime horse girls of Umamusume: Pretty Derby is that the characters are each based on actual famous race horses. With the sports sim's surging popularity in North America, this may be seeing an interest among new fans to visit the real horses themselves. With that in mind, the game's developer Cygames has published guidelines for people wishing to visit stables. Umamusume: Pretty Derby has already been a hit in Japan since the original mobile release in 2021, spawning manga, anime, and even a stage adaptation. But since its global release last month, strong word of mouth, including streams from mainstream creators like Northernlion and Vinesauce, has helped catapult it to widespread attention, where earlier this week it hit its all-time-peak of just over 50,000 concurrent players on Steam. That seems to have also prompted more enquiries from fans who want to actually visit the real-life race horses the titular Umamusume are based on, as a BlueSky user has noted that appointments to visit Haru Urara, a race horse beloved for her long losing streak, has already been booked out for the month. Their post also included a screenshot from a Twitter user urging fans to "please be respectful and follow the rules". Continue Reading at GameSpot

News - How To Never Die In The Sims 4
In the real world, everyone dies eventually. In The Sims 4, however, that's not the case at all. While most of the digital people who inhabit your Sim worlds will pass on to the afterlife, there are actually several different methods for extending their lifespans indefinitely. Most of those methods have been added with paid expansion packs you'll need to buy in order to try them, but there are some free, base game options as well. If you like a particular Sim, it's possible to have them live forever--you'll just have to put in some work. Let's take a look at what it takes to live forever. Copypasto and cloningBefore we get into the specific methods of gaining immortality, it feels prudent to point out two methods of duplicating potions and serums. Making enough Age-Away serums to live forever would take a long time and be very boring, and you'd have to regularly harvest the ingredients. There are two ways to speed this process up. First is the Copypasto spell, which spellcasters can use to duplicate any object, and second is the cloning machine, which Sims in the Scientist career will have to build as part of their job duties. Either of these methods can be used to duplicate a Potion of Youth, an Age-Away Serum, or any individual ingredients. You'll need either the Realm of Magic (for Copypasto) or the Get To Work (cloning machine) expansions for these methods, however, and the base game doesn't have any similar methods of duplication.
