The Nintendo of America Twitter account recently uploaded a graphic that provides fans with a full-scale shot of all the NES and SNES games you can play when you subscribe to Nintendo Switch Online in this particular region.
It also acts as a reminder that there are now more than 80 playable classics available with “more to come”. Take a look below:
One of the more exciting additions in recent times would have to be Rare’s Donkey Kong Country. Although other regions, like Japan, have received role-playing classics such as the Atlus game, Shin Megami Tensei.
To see the full written list of all the classic NES and SNES games available via the NSO, visit the official website. Of course, to play all of these games, you’ll need to become a member or have access to a free trial.

Even More Nintendo Switch eShop Deals Are Up For Grabs Now
The Nintendo Switch eShop has been loaded with deals recently. Last week, two sales went live--the Indie World Sale and Share the Fun Sale--and now a pair of new sales join them. The Ubisoft Summer Blow Out Sale offers deals on Rayman Legends, Assassin's Creed: The Rebel Collection, and more. There's also a Mega Man Franchise Sale that discounts every Legacy Collection as well as Mega Man 11.
Ubisoft's sale runs through September 7, so you have about two weeks to browse the deals. While there aren't a ton of deals up for grabs here, there are a handful of good ones. Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle's Gold edition, which comes with the Donkey Kong Adventure expansion and other season pass content, is down to $20. Though this zany XCOM-esque tactics game is regularly on sale, this is the best price we've seen for the base game and DLC together.
By the looks of it, that might not be the only Sega two-pack on the way. As spotted by Tails’ Channel, GameFly has listed a Sonic Forces and Super Monkey Ball HD double pack. The second game is likely to be Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD.
As can be seen, the release date is 31st October. The other double pack on Amazon is scheduled for 26th October.
GameFly has a relatively good track record when it comes to Nintendo Switch listings like this. It revealed Titan Quest and Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden – Deluxe Edition were both on their way to the hybrid system ahead of any official announcements.
Well before both of these recent double pack listings, Sega released a two-in-one bundle containing Sonic Mania and Sonic Forces. Would you be interested in physical release containing Sonic Forces and last year’s Super Monkey Ball? Tell us below.
How to Print Without Newline in Python—A Simple Illustrated Guide
Summary: To print without the newline character in Python 3, set the end argument in the print() function to the empty string or the single whitespace character. This ensures that there won’t be a newline in the standard output after each execution of print(). Alternatively, unpack the iterable into the print() function to avoid the use of multiple print() statements: print(*iter).
Let’s go over this problem and these two solutions step-by-step.
Problem: How to use the print() function without printing an implicit newline character to the Python shell?
Example: Say, you want to use the print() function within a for loop—but you don’t want to see multiple newlines between the printed output:
for i in range(1,5): print(i)
The default standard output is the following:
1
2
3
4
But you want to get the following output in a single line of Python code.
1 2 3 4
How to accomplish this in Python 3?
Solution: I’ll give you the quick solution in an interactive Python shell here:
By reading on, you’ll understand how this works and become a better coder in the process.
Let’s have a quick recap of the Python print() function!
Python Print Function – Quick Start Guide
There are two little-used arguments of the print function in Python.
The argument sep indicates the separator which is printed between the objects.
The argument end defines what comes at the end of each line.
a = 'hello'
b = 'world' print(a, b, sep=' Python ', end='!')
Try it yourself in our interactive code shell:
Exercise: Click “Run” to execute the shell and see the output. What has changed?
Solution 1: End Argument of Print Function
Having studied this short guide, you can now see how to solve the problem:
To print the output of the for loop to a single line, you need to define the end argument of the print function to be something different than the default newline character. In our example, we want to use the empty space after each string we pass into the print() function. Here’s how you accomplish this:
for i in range(1,5): print(i, end=' ')
The shell output concentrates on a single line:
1 2 3 4
By defining the end argument, you can customize the output to your problem.
Solution 2: Unpacking
However, there’s an even more advanced solution that’s more concise and more Pythonic. It makes use of the unpacking feature in Python.
print(*range(1,5))
# 1 2 3 4
The asterisk prefix * before the range(1,5) unpacks all values in the rangeiterable into the print function. This way, it becomes similar to the function execution print(1, 2, 3, 4) with comma-separated arguments. You can use an arbitrary number of arguments in the print() function.
Per default, Python will print these arguments with an empty space in between. If you want to customize this separator string, you can use the sep argument as you’ve learned above.
How to Print a List?
Do you want to print a list to the shell? Just follow these simple steps:
Pass a list as an input to the print() function in Python.
Use the asterisk operator * in front of the list to “unpack” the list into the print function.
Use the sep argument to define how to separate two list elements visually.
Here’s the code:
# Create the Python List
lst = [1, 2, 3, 4, 5] # Use three underscores as separator
print(*lst, sep='___')
# 1___2___3___4___5 # Use an arrow as separator
print(*lst, sep='-->')
# 1-->2-->3-->4-->5

The popular battle royale initially started out with the working title of ‘Fools Gauntlet,’ and was conceived by lead game designer Joe Walsh as a 100 player battle royale slalom that asked competitors to duke it out for a share of a 1 million gold prize pool.
While the core idea of getting a bunch of players to navigate a series of complex and hilarious obstacle courses was there from the get-go, the concept was ultimately scaled back from 100 players to 60 so that games would be “readable” and most importantly, fun.
Smitten with Walsh’s proposal, Tanton worked with him to put together a pitch deck within 24 hours, and with the help of principal concept artist Dan Hoang even managed to envision how the game might look.
What’s striking about that initial concept art is how faithful it is to the final product. According to Tanton, those images also brought about an epiphany. It made them realize that a game like Fall Guys wasn’t just about the obstacle courses, but also the plucky competitors who’re actually running the gauntlet.
“This image (above) was super important for two reasons. First, all great pitch doc images make you wish you had a controller in your hands. I took one look at this and wanted to play the game,” explains Tanton.
“Second, the BEANS. Obviously just little capsule shapes Dan had thrown in but suddenly we realized the focus of this game was the competitors… not just the course”
“That’s probably where ‘Fall Guys‘ as a game title first appeared (RIP Fool’s Gauntlet and ‘Stumble Chums’) — our characters that would fail for our amusement, but crucially always get back up again. Always. They would be heroic in their indefatigability.”
Fast forward to August 2020, and there are over 2 million of those bumbling, bouncing, beans running amok on Steam alone, but there were still plenty of challenges to overcome before Mediatonic reached that point. To hear more about those, be sure to check out Tanton’s full thread on Twitter.
