Now that Shovel Knight Showdown and King of Cards have been released, Yacht Club Games is focused on other projects.
One of these games is the 8-bit ninja platformer Cyber Shadow. Aarne Hunziker from Mechanical Head Studios has been developing this title for the past decade and it’s now being polished up under the watchful eye of Yacht Club.
So far, we’ve heard about the game’s story and the announcement trailer showed off plenty of platforming action. It’s not often you learn about the length of a 2D sidescroller prior to its release, but during a recent interview with Nintendo Enthusiast, the game’s creator spoke about how long it takes to beat the current build:
Personally, I can complete the game in a few hours, but playtesters are taking anywhere from 4 to 10 hours to reach the ending. This is not counting feats / achievements.
Given the type of game Cyber Shadow is, we’d say anywhere between 4 to 10 hours is a good amount. A lot of players are likely to find themselves replaying levels in an attempt to perfect their runs, and as noted by Hunziker, there’s plenty of in-game milestones to work towards as well.
When it does arrive, Cyber Shadow is expected to be priced at US$14.99. At the moment, though, there’s no word on when it will be released. How do you feel about “4 to 10 hours” worth of gameplay? Tell us below.
