Our European Cloud Principles build on our commitment to support a fair and competitive cloud environment everywhere we operate, including in Europe.
Today in Brussels, I announced steps we’re taking to work with Europe’s cloud providers, customers, and regulators to invest in and build a public cloud that will promote competition and meet Europe’s economic, security, and cultural needs. Our new European Cloud Principles will guide our cloud business across Europe, including in the United Kingdom. We also announced licensing changes that will help us to better support Europe’s technology needs for cloud providers and customers. These changes are a big step toward addressing recent concerns that have been raised, but they won’t be the last step to ensure Microsoft’s investments to strengthen Europe’s economic and technical prosperity.
