The insanely popular MOBA League of Legends might be PC-only, but that doesn’t mean that you’re limited to chunky computers to enjoy your favorite franchise. With our list of the best League of Legends games on Switch and mobile, we’ll help you experience this zany world from a whole new angle.

Sometimes you find yourself extremely invested in one thing, whether that’s a genre of game or a franchise. At Pocket Tactics, we’ve got you covered with tons of lists covering the best football games, volleyball games, party games, Pokémon games, Mario games, vampire games, and loads more.

Let’s take a look at the best League of Legends games on Switch and mobile.

League of Legends: Wild Rift – mobile

Playing League of Legends: Wild Rift is the closest you can get to playing the original MOBA on the go, especially as even some of the best portable gaming consoles that can run the launcher are still ironing out their kinks. Wild Rift is built from the ground up for mobile play, featuring over 40 champions and two game modes: Wild Rift and ARAM.

Riot has consistently supported Wild Rift since its release in 2020, and the official website still promises that a console release is coming soon. Ruined King – Switch

Ruined King: A League of Legends Story was the first League spin-off game to come from Riot’s publishing arm, Riot Forge. This tactical RPG sees you play as Miss Sarah Fortune, a popular gunslinger character from League’s enormous roster, as she takes over as the ruler of Bilgewater.

Alongside other recognizable characters like Braum, Ahri, and Pike, you work together to fight off an approaching threat from the black mist. This game is a great place to jump into the lore of League of Legends without worrying about who you main in the MOBA. Convergence – Switch

Riot aims to conquer yet another genre with Convergence: A League of Legends Story. This Metroidvania serves as Ekko’s origin story, delving deeper into his life in Zaun and how he mastered his time manipulation abilities. Convergence is also a great game to start with if you’re looking for a familiar face, as Ekko plays a critical role in Netflix’s Arcane series, which helped to spread League even further than ever before.

The Mageseeker – Switch

Another Riot Forge entry, The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story explores Sylus’ backstory as an imprisoned mage through an action-packed pixel roguelike from the developers of Moonlighter. Sylus is more of an anti-hero than a typical game protagonist, but this game sees you get to know him and his motivations across multiple runs and ultimately delivers his redemption.

Of course, this mage-freeing adventure also features other popular League champions like Morgana and Lux which avid fans can look forward to, but much like the other League of Legends Story entries, you don’t need any prior knowledge to fall in love with this game. Legends of Runeterra – mobile

What videogame universe is complete without a digital CCG? Legends of Runeterra is Riot’s answer to physical card games like Magic the Gathering and digital competitors like Blizzard’s Hearthstone. The cards represent champions, locations, and other lore tidbits from League’s expansive universe.

Legends of Runeterra has both PvE and PvP gameplay and is free-to-play, so if you want to get involved in the League universe through a genre that you’re comfortable with, there’s no harm in giving it a go. A new Legends of Runeterra character concept is being created in a ‘Draw with Riot’ art stream

Riot Games has announced the first ‘Draw with Riot’ art stream is running tonight, creating a new character concept for Legends of Runeterra. The stream follows Runeterra’s principal concept artist, Chris Campbell, as he draws the character live. We’re extremely excited to see the new concept, since Legends of Runeterra’s art is out of this world gorgeous. But we’re also excited because in the notes for Patch 1.2, which dropped a little while back, it was hinted that this livestream might also give us info about future content coming to Legends of Runeterra.

Could this livestream also reveal the concept for the next expansion pack? Or will it reveal a solo character coming to the game? We have absolutely no idea, but the best way of finding out is by settling down to watch the livestream.

For those that don’t know, Riot Games’ card battler, Legends of Runeterra recently came to mobile, launching at the same time as the expansion pack, Rising Tides. It’s wowed a lot of people, especially us – read our Legends of Runeterra review if you want to know why!

Riot also revealed a new roadmap for Legends of Runeterra today, introducing three new game modes: Labs, Gauntlets, and Events. The video also reveals that Runeterra will get a new region expansion every six months, and new cards every two. Full details can be seen below:

It sounds as if ‘Draw with Riot’ is going to be a regular feature from now on, and these streams are a really great way of learning more about how the game’s concept art is created. But since Runeterra’s art is so beautiful, you really won’t hear us complaining.

Legends of Runeterra launches April 30 on mobile

Riot Games has announced that Legends of Runeterra, the upcoming League of Legends card game, will officially launch on mobile on April 30. That’s a simultaneous launch with the PC version, which is just rather lovely. If you’re not sure what this is, it’s a brand new card game by League of Legends creator Riot, who is clearly on a mission to beat Blizzard at its own game. Literally. It draws a lot of inspiration from Hearthstone, you see.

It’s free-to-play and you can earn cards by simply playing or purchasing them from the store. You’ll be able to directly purchase the cards you want, as well rather than rely on whatever you can get out of card packs. The ability to have that much more control over your decks will likely appeal to fans who are tired of bad luck.

Aside from that, though, it’s all very business as usual. You’ll craft a deck out of a wide variety of cards, each of which comes from one of six different regions. Regions behave similarly to classes in Hearthstone, providing a variety of different play styles. You can combine cards from different regions to create your own strategy.

You can also pick a champion, which is a powerful card that you’ll likely build your deck around. There are six champions in total, with each one hailing from one of the different regions available in the game.

Legends of Runeterra is currently available in open beta on PC, and you can still earn a limited-time Moonstruck Poro at launch if you check it out ahead of the full launch. That’s on April 30, when it will launch across PC, iOS, and Android simultaneously. You can pre-register right now on Android via Google Play, but will have to wait until the official launch to grab it on iOS.
