Farlight 84 is a hero-based battle royale shooter from Lilith Games arriving in 2021

Lilith Games has announced that its upcoming battle royale shooter, Farlight 84, is arriving on mobile in 2021. The game combines elements of MOBA with multiplayer shooting, as you bring heroes to battle, and use their abilities to overcome opponents. Imagine something like Apex: Legends combined with Fortnite, as you also have the usual battle royale accouterments of crafting, and vehicles with which to rampage across the map.

In terms of story, Farlight 84 is post-apocalyptic, but more like the colourful post-apocalypse of Farcry: New Dawn than say, The Long Dark. The world has been taken over by zombie-cyborgs – zomborgs for short – and the last remaining heroes of humanity must face off against each other to scavenge what they need to survive.

This makes Farlight sounds pretty grim, but on the contrary, it looks like a fun-filled third-person shooter, channeling those same quirky Fortnite vibes, with fast-paced 40 player matches. Adding to the chaos, players are able to kit themselves out with super-powered weapons, courtesy of Farlight’s ‘Big Four’ arms manufacturers. They’ll also be a fair selection of ways to traverse the map, from multi-legged spider walkers to jet-packs, though players will have to be wary of the game’s energy system when using these.

If you want to see some gameplay for yourself, the new trailer is below:

Farlight 84 also features ‘refuges’ which are places you can hang out inbetween games with your buddies. But in order to construct and personalise these, you’re going to have to earn building matierials from winning matches.

If you want to find out more about Farlight 84, you can stay up to date with news on the official Facebook and Twitter accounts. For more similar recommendations, check out our list of the best mobile multiplayer games!

Black Desert Mobile update reveals the new Dimensional Crystal class

Acclaimed MMO Black Desert Mobile is ramping up its content to see out 2020 on a high note. After the trashfire of a year we’ve had, games are the perfect form of escapism, and updates just keep us away from the real world for as long as possible.

Black Desert Mobile is introducing a brand new crystal class for players. The Dimensional Crystal – aside from just sounding more epic than a journey to Mordor – grants new buffs to your attack points, defense points, and Black Spirit stat points. For those of you currently using the Abyssal-grade crystal, the effects of the Dimensional Crystal vastly exceed the highest potential of your current class.

Publisher Pearl Abyss also announced the return of the Field of Valor, which sees players form uneasy alliances with each other to fight hordes of enemies. The mode is here for two weeks (until December 8), so find four other players and take down as many monsters as you can in the 30-minute survival mode. A word of warning, however: you’ll need to spend Tokens of Valor in order to enter. So slay some monsters in the Black Desert world to gain access to the Field of Valor.

The full patch notes and information for the Dimensional Crystal can be found below:

  • Added Dimensional Crystal
    • Dimensional Crystals can contain power for the Aal, Labreve, Serrett, and Ahib branches
    • Dimensional Crystal extraction is only possible for gear lower than Primal grade, and cannot be done otherwise
  • Added a separate category on the craft menu for crafting Dimensional Crystals
    • You can craft Dimensional Crystals in the Alchemy Lab or Craft menu, under the Crystal category
  • Added new items that are required to craft Dimensional Crystals
    • Obtain Dimensional Fragments from feeding Abyssal-grade items to the Black Spirit and from Field of Valor
  • Dimensional Fragments cannot be obtained by feeding the Delphad Main Weapon and Sub-Weapon event rewards to the Black Spirit
    • Use Dark Coins to purchase Empty Crystals from Gervaise’s Shop

There is also – as with everything – a Black Friday sale in the Pearl Shop. Ornaments, outfits, and pets all have discounts, some of which reach 90% off. Pearl Abyss also says there will be special item bundles available, although we don’t know exactly what these include at this point.

New update to Black Desert Mobile introduces the Grand Desert region

If you’re hankering for some more stuff to do in Black Desert Mobile, then it’s time to steel your blade, ready your bow, charge your magic, or feed your panthers. The next expansion to Black Desert Mobile is adding a new region called the Grand Desert.

Grand Desert is filled to the brim with mysterious temples and tons of treasure to discover. It’s also said that a Black Spirit lives there, but we’re not sure if Pearl Abyss means the stony goliath that’s featured quite heavily in the trailer. Still, at least the oasis towns look pretty!

Black Desert Mobile’s first anniversary event is also coming very soon. In an upcoming update, you’ll be able to participate in a special in-game event titled ‘Black Spirit Complete Guide’. This event will give players “special quests to level up quickly and unlock endgame content” according to the press release. If you’d rather do it yourself and not have everything spoon fed to you, you can check out our Black Desert Mobile guide to get started.

While these two features are the biggest, there are a few more things coming to Black Desert Mobile in the near future:

  • Crystal of Dimensions: A new attack and defence boost item. You can craft this at the alchemy workshop and is said to provide “players with a new form of character progression”.
  • Carriage Upgrade: Carriages now allow players to carry more goods.
  • Merchantry upgrade: A new SS rank for Merchantry will also be available. This makes it so that you get more resources in a single run.
  • Returning User-care System: A quest line has been created for returning players, which aims to get players who have lapsed up to the same levels as those who have played continuously, allowing them to access the new stuff sooner. These quests are apparently tied to silver rewards.

While there is no date for when the Grand Desert expansion update will drop, but the first anniversary update will begin appearing on December 8.

Explore haunted space ruins in EVE Echoes’ Halloween event

Grab your broomsticks and ready your cauldrons – Halloween may be over, but the spooky season is only just beginning for EVE Echoes. The mobile game is running a Halloween event, The Crimson Harvest, which sees players investigate themed Festive Anomalies which appear throughout the universe. Developer NetEase is also shifting module designs in this update thanks to player feedback, but most players will want to get their spook on in the limited-time mode.

While many games have finished their Halloween events, and many players are looking forward to Chr*stmas (it’s still too early to mention it in our house), Echoes is continuing the Halloween tradition for as long as possible. From October 31 to November 10, EVE Echoes players can stumble across Crimson Harvest Anomalies such as the Haunted Ruins and Carnival at Cemetery. It’s unclear exactly what these anomalies do, but finding out and exploring is part of the fun, right?

You’ll also be able to get your hands on Haunted Supply Boxes, which could hold Halloween-exclusive skins (some of which could be permanent) and new modules. Keep your eyes peeled for Haunted Supply Box III, as this will be the one that offers new storyline Modules and permanent Halloween Skins. The seven new modules will be available through regular methods from November 11, when the event ends.

There are also some Limited-Time Crimson Harvest skins available in the New Eden Store, which are available by any other means. There are also four new skin boxes, which offer discounts if you were after a few different options.

The skins themselves are pumpkin-inspired, as you can probably tell by the orange and black colours and the flame-like effect.

If Halloween isn’t your thing and you’re more interested in the module designs, the 7 new Electronic Warfare Modules are as follows: Interdiction Sphere Launcher, Warp Disruption Field Generator, Warp Scrambler, Sensor Dampening, Target Painter, Tracking Disruptor, and Guidance Disruptor. You can find the full details of what they offer on the EVE Echoes update blog.

If you’re just getting started – or want a refresher – here’s our guide to the best EVE Echoes ships and our tips for EVE Echoes mining. Of course, if you still need convincing whether or not to pick the game up, check out our review, where we said that it “succeeds in channeling the classic Eve experience, while also streamlining for new players.”

Claim free in-game rewards in Summoners Glory: Eternal Fire this weekend

Summoners Glory: Eternal Fire, BHG team’s first ever game, launches this Sunday on October 18. Blending together the turn-based, hero collector, PVP, and MMORPG genres, Summoners Glory: Eternal Fire aims to immerse players in the world of Kairasia as they battle against Morganter, the Demon Lord.

Morganter’s reign of terror on the people of Ertos looked like it would be the end of civilisation as they knew it, but the Goddess of the Initial Fire stepped up just in time. Shining her light of hope on humanity, the heroes of Ertos felt the power of the Initial Fire. With the leadership of the Gods, the heroes of Ertos face Morganter for the final time. As a Phantom Master, it’s up to you to bring peace to Ertos once and for all.

In this dungeon crawler, you assemble a squad capable of toppling Morganter. There are hundreds of unique heroes scattered around the world called Phantoms. Defeating these powerful Phantoms may lead them to pledge their allegiance to you, so it’s worth battling these strong opponents once you have prepared for battle.

If you start playing Summoners Glory: Eternal Fire, be sure to enter code PocketTactics at the character creation screen to get some powerful in-game rewards. The items include experience buffs, summoning books, an SS Rank Phantom, and even gold. Don’t worry, this code doesn’t expire so feel free to use it at any point.

Summoners Glory: Eternal Fire will be arriving on Android and iOS devices at the end of the week. Players can pre-register their interest to play on the Google Play Store and App Store right now.

Get a first look at Summoners War: Chronicles in the Gamescom 2020 trailer

Com2us presented Summoners War: Chronicles, the upcoming MMORPG sequel to the long-running gacha RPG, Summoners War, in a brand new gameplay trailer during Gamescom 2020. We have to say, it’s looking pretty snazzy. It shows off some of the fancy new traversal features, including climbing down cliffsides and whizzing down ziplines, as well as plenty of combat.

That’s where Summoners War: Chronicles seems to really shine. At first glance, it looks like a typical MMORPG, complete with a wide variety of gear to equip, flashy skills to unleash, and giant boss monsters to vanquish. Glance again, though, and you’ll recognise a few of your favourite monsters from the original. You still play as a summoner here, and bringing your favourite monsters into battle with you remains a big part of the experience.

There are plenty of opportunities to kick back though, with lifestyle skills playing a big part this time around. We got a glance at fishing, gathering herbs, and mining, and it all looked like a very relaxing way to spend an evening after a long day at work.

Check out the Gamescom 2020 gameplay trailer below:

Overall, it looks all set to be a nice expansion to the existing Summoners War universe, with a wide variety of new content to enjoy. Most importantly, you can enjoy it with friends in fully persistent areas. This is an MMORPG, after all.

In other news, Com2us has announced a crossover with Street Fighter, which also received a teaser trailer at Gamescom. Your favourite characters, including Ryu, Ken, M. Bison, Chun-Li, and Dhalsim make an appearance as playable monsters in the original Summoners War. The best part is, you can experience this content right now.

Here’s a taste of what to expect:

You can grab Summoners War on iOS or Android via the App Store or Google Play respectively. We’re not sure exactly when Summoners War: Chronicles will arrive on mobile, but we’ll keep you posted as soon as we learn more.

StoneAge World launches globally on Android and iOS

The wait to play Netmarble’s anticipated MMORPG is finally over. StoneAge World, the caveman pet simulator, is out now on Android and iOS, with over 250 different animals and prehistoric beasties to befriend and tame. The launch also covers 172 countries, so no matter where you are, it’s pretty likely you can play.

For those that don’t know, StoneAge World casts you in the role of a trainer, a warrior who must protect the wild, prehistoric land of Tectonika using trained animals. You’ll have to collect and tame these beasts, from woolly mammoths to dinosaurs, which you can ride around, and use in turn-based combat against the invading threat of the machine civilisation. The combination of pet simulator and RPG is part of what makes the game unique:

“StoneAge World is a new blend of mobile game that combines pet-centric collection, which appeals to players of diverse generations, with a visually pleasing aesthetic that differentiates itself from other mobile MMORPGs,” explains Netmarble executive producer Joon Sung Chang. “We are thrilled to finally bring this game to the West and mobile players around the world.”

There is a trailer for the game on YouTube, as well as these fun little videos crafting creatures from the game in clay-art while talking about them:
