Dead by Daylight Mobile adds new skins and a training mode

The new update to Dead by Daylight Mobile sees the introduction of a new game mode: training. While training game modes are quite popular in games across a multitude of genres, few of them have as many benefits as the Dead by Daylight Mobile training mode does.

Unsurprisingly, the training mode is a solo experience where you can refine your skills against bots. The gameplay is the same as you would see outside of training, and you get to keep 50% of Bloodpoints and 10% of Character experience if you appease or outwit The Entity. The game mode offers advantages for new and veteran players, as the bot’s difficulty scales up depending on your skill level.

If you have yet to play Dead by Daylight Mobile, then you are missing out on a brilliant and yet terrifying survival experience – which you can read about in our Dead by Daylight Mobile review. The game is a four-on-one multiplayer horror where one killer hunts and stops the other four players from escaping. Dead by Daylight Mobile isn’t just entertaining, it is also exhilarating as the deranged killer can sneak up on you at any moment.

If you are yet to see any of the gameplay for the new mode, this trailer will give you a better understanding of why training was added and how to use it.

Popular pet simulator My Talking Tom Friends gets a release date

Outfit 7 has announced the release date for the newest installment in the Talking Tom series, My Talking Tom Friends. It launches on June 12 on Android and iOS, with pre-registration open on Google Play right now. Over the years, Outfit 7 has cemented itself as the de facto developer and publisher of virtual mobile pet sims, with their suite of games receiving 12 billion downloads in the last alone decade.

My Talking Tom Friends is built upon Outfit 7’s success in those previous titles, advancing the formula by letting you care for all of Talking Tom’s characters at once under the same roof. The game takes place in a kind of domestic sandbox, as you cater to the needs of your cast of creatures.

It’s a little like The Sims – if all of your Sims somehow transformed into anthropomorphic animals and forgot how to look after themselves. Characters like Talking Tom, Ginger, Angela, Hank, Ben, and Becca are all present in the house, which you can also decorate and customise to your preference.

Below you can find one of the series shorts that makes Talking Tom and its characters so beloved:

When asked about the new installment in the series, senior game designer, Barbara Erman, said this:

“We wanted to give fans the perfect blend of caring for their favorite characters and having amazing experiences with them. And where the line between ‘you’ and ‘them’ disappears as you get drawn into the bright, vivid world of games, fun, and friendship.”

If Talking Tom sounds like your kind of game, then you can get your hands on the real thing on June 12. You can also currently pre-register on Google Play, though not for iOS just yet.

Dead by Daylight Mobile celebrates three million downloads by letting you play as LeatherFace

Behaviour Interactive has announced that Dead by Daylight Mobile, the port of its horror hack n’ slash survival game, has been downloaded three million times on Android and iOS. If you consider that it launched just under a month ago, this is a very impressive feat. Behaviour is celebrating this achievement by giving mobile players a new killer to use; The Cannibal. This chainsaw wielding mad-man, also known as LeatherFace, became famous for appearing in the 1974 film, Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

In Dead by Daylight Mobile he comes equipped with three perks; Knock Out, Barbecue & Chilli, and Franklin’s Demise. He’s also decked out with his iconic chainsaw, and a trusty sledgehammer – just in case you want a change of pace when murdering.

For those who don’t know, Dead by Daylight is a bit of a who’s who of iconic horror killers. You are dropped into a map with other players and have to evade a killer – controlled by another player – while completing a series of tasks in order to escape without getting murdered. It’s wonderful, albeit terrifying fun.

Behaviour made a variety of smart changes to Dead by Daylight to optimise it for mobile, including a visual cue for heartbeats, to put less focus on the game’s audio aspects.

Alongside LeatherFace, a new update introduces a revamped XP system, linking it to individual characters, and a new outfit, the Treacherous Waters Collection. All of this will drop alongside quality of life changes and bug fixes.

Dead by Daylight Mobile was pretty well received, generally praised as a good port of the original; check out Glen’s Dead by Daylight Mobile review if you don’t believe us. If you’re a horror fan, or feel like hunting your friends like animals, you can find Dead by Deadlight on Google Play, or the App Store.

Also if you want some advice on how best to out-fox bloodthirsty opponents, see our Dead by Daylight Mobile guide. We also have tonnes of advice on which killers and survivors to pick in our painstakingly detailed list of Dead by Daylight Mobile characters.

A Doctor Who horror game from the Simulacra devs is launching next year

Maze Theory, the VR game developer, has announced two new Doctor Who games. One is for PC and console, but the other is a horror sci-fi game, which is under development in partnership with Kaigan Games. The Malaysian developer is famous for Simulacra, a Telling Lies-esque thriller where you solve a mystery via an in-game mobile phone interface. This unnamed Doctor Who mobile game will reportedly take a similar format, as a “mobile takeover”. Kaigan Games are also well-known for Sarah is Missing, another found phone horror game, and has cemented the company as an acclaimed developer of handheld horror.

The game is set during the period of the current 13th Doctor, Jodie Whitaker, forming a trilogy of three games alongside Doctor Who: Edge of Time, a VR game that launched last November, and a game coming to console and PC next year.

According to the developer, players can expect “new adventures, new game mechanics, intriguing subplots, and iconic features such as the TARDIS, terrifying Weeping Angels, imposing Daleks and – of course – the chance to collude with the Doctor herself.”

The Doctor Who mobile game is official, and under development in partnership with the BBC.

Maze Theory also has a Peaky Blinder’s VR game in-development, so this isn’t its first time transferring a much-loved TV series and intellectual property into a game format.

We don’t know precisely when yet, but the Doctor Who mobile game is currently set to launch sometime early next year. Plenty of time to prepare yourself, or try out Simulacra if you’re feeling brave. You can find Simulacra on Google Play, or the App Store.

Dead by Daylight Mobile is out now

Behaviour Interactive’s mobile port of the multiplayer survival horror game, Dead by Daylight, is out right now. The mobile version plays almost exactly the same as the original, with four players taking on the roles of survivors and a single player acting as murderous psychopath. Survivors attempt to escape without getting killed, the killer does the killing.

It’s not as simple as running to the exit or chopping heads off though, as both survivor and killer have a bunch of mechanics to keep in mind that help them complete objectives. Survivors, for example, can’t harm the killer at all. Instead, they have to use the power of stealth to avoid the enemy, hiding behind or inside objects, and moving as quietly as possible.

However, you won’t always be able to visually see the killer, which is where your terror radius comes in. When you get close to the killer, you’ll hear a heartbeat sound. This becomes louder as you get closer to the killer, at which point you’ll be able to see where the killer is looking thanks to a red cone of light in front of them.

While survivors can’t actively attack the killer, you can help your fellows to escape capture by temporarily blinding or stunning the killer. You can also heal your teammates when they get injured. In terms of actually escaping though, you have to attempt to repair five generators dotted around the map. Doing so makes a lot of noise, which can attract the killer to your position. Once you’ve repaired all of the generators, you can head straight towards the exit gates.

Meanwhile, killers have their own set of mechanics to help them hunt and butcher survivors. Due to your heightened senses, you can see tracks and bloodstains left behind by survivors, as well as track their location when you hear a loud noise. You can also run faster than a survivor, which helps you catch them when spotted. If you do catch them, you’ll have to attack them to knock them down, and you’ve got both a short-range and lunge attack to help you. Two hits, and the survivor is down.

To actually kill a survivor, you have to carry them to one of the various sacrificial hooks dotted around the map. You’ll have to be quick and careful though, as survivors can wriggle free, stunning you in the process, or be saved by their fellows. If you manage to successfully transport a survivor to the hook, you’ll still have to be on your guard, as survivors can still attempt to escape and their teammates can rescue them.

Dead by Daylight Mobile is basically the same game, just redesigned for mobile. You’ll find the progression system, which provides a bunch of different characters, perks, and cosmetics to unlock, intact, as well as a redesigned UI and controls for mobile. If you’d like to check it out, go ahead and grab Dead by Daylight right now on iOS or Android via the App Store or Google Play respectively.

Pokémon Go gets an online leaderboard later today

Right in time for the bank holiday weekend (depending where you are), Niantic is gearing up to drop an exciting new feature in Pokémon Go: online leaderboards. These tie into the Go Battle League feature, and provide you with a list of the top 500 players statistically. The leaderboard hasn’t gone live yet, but you’ll be able to see it at the official Pokémon Go live website as soon as the Go Battle League changes to Master League from Ultra.

The leaderboard will detail the top 500 players’ nicknames, teams, ranks, ratings, and the total number of battles played. This information is taken from the previous day’s statistics, and will update between 20:00 and 22:00 UTC each day. If you want to make it on the leaderboard, you’ll not only have to be a good enough battler, but you’ll also have to ensure that you don’t have an offensive nickname.

To celebrate the launch of the Go Battle League leaderboards, Niantic is hosting a Go Battle Day event on Sunday, which features the Pokémon Marill. The more battles you perform between 11:00 and 14:00 in your local time zone, the higher the chance you’ll have of encountering the fan-favourite Pokémon.

Marill will also appear as a guaranteed reward after your first and third wins, though those who own a premium battle pass will get Marill after every single win. All players will also receive twice the normal amount of stardust for catching Marill.

Niantic is also extending the number of battles you can perform for the entirety of Sunday (in your local time). Rather than the five sets of battles you can typically perform, Niantic is increasing this to 20. That’s a whopping 100 battles for those who want to participate.

If you’re interested, you can go ahead and grab Pokémon Go from the App Store or Google Play right now and get ready for the online leaderboards going live later today. The Go Battle Day event happens on Sunday.
