Work up a sweat with the Nintendo Switch Sports towel

It’s not often we sweat when playing video games, but I perspire whenever I have to make a narrative decision in a game, or when I’m knocking back fastballs in Nintendo Switch Sports. Well, up until now I’ve had to deal with my sweat in incredibly generic ways, but it seems Nintendo has decided to solve the problem I didn’t know I had with the Nintendo Switch Sports towel reward.

Players with a Nintendo Switch Online account and a My Nintendo Store UK account can wander on over and peruse the My Nintendo Store exclusive rewards. For the princely sum of 500 platinum points, this lovely piece of merch can be yours, and you can live out the ultimate tennis fantasy of throwing in the towel for real when you lose.

This new reward is another great piece for collectors on top of the recent Rabbids keyring, and other great physical selections like the Nintendo hanafuda postcard set. It’s a great way to actually spend all those platinum points, and like other rewards, you simply have to cover the cost of postage to claim these fun little goodies. With the Nintendo Switch Sports golf update about to drop, this could be the perfect way to cool down after nailing all those…birdies? I don’t know, I don’t play golf.

If you’re a huge Nintendo Switch Sports fan then get a glimpse of the upcoming golf update with the latest trailer below.

Well, that’s it for today, sports fans. We love this reward and will bat-tle to grab one ourselves later on, and of court-s we hope you get one too. If you want to find another way to share a game with pals, be sure to check out our guide to the best Switch sports games next.

FIFA 23 Ultimate Team – FUT web app and errors

FIFA 23’s Ultimate Team is arguably the main draw for many players. Sure, there are a bunch of different game modes, like FIFA 23’s career mode, but FUT has the magical card-collecting draw of a classic Panini sticker book. Well, it’s magical to an extent – it is, of course, also a money-making machine, pulling billions from its devoted players.

But, whatever, this ain’t no microtransaction soapbox. I’m here to help all you FIFA 23 Ultimate Team players get around any issues you may find, as well as a couple of FUT Ultimate Team tactical tips. Most important of all, I’ll help you understand the FUT web app, a pretty essential tool for any fan not too familiar with FUT.

Anyway, that’s enough effs in a sentence to turn anyone blind. Head downstairs article-wise for some of FUT Ultimate Team’s top tips, tricks, and tribulations. Or, if you think you already know it all, check out our guides to FIFA 23 crossplay, FIFA 23 ratings, and FIFA 23’s Switch version. Or maybe you’ve got a nose for numbers? FIFA 23 Ultimate Team errors

There are, as always with big online games, possible technical issues that can arise. Check out some of the most notable FIFA 23 Ultimate Team errors below, and how to fix them.

FIFA 23 Ultimate Team not connecting error

Here are a few possible solutions to FUT 23 Ultimate Team connection errors:

  • Close and reopen FIFA 23
  • Restart your console
  • Reboot your router
  • Check your local service provider for any net issues
  • Head to Downdetector to see if others have reported issues

If other people are also reporting connection issues, the likely remedy is to wait around. It’s almost definite the issue is on EA’s side.

Are the FIFA 23 servers down?

As with above, there are a few things you can do to see if the FIFA 23 servers are down or if the issue is on your end. If none of the above steps work, head again to Downdetector to see if others have reported issues. If they have, that’ll be why you can’t connect.

That’s all we’ve got on FIFA 23’s Ultimate Team for now. For more, check out our Football Frontier codes for some free goodies. Or for some tech help for virtual meetings, check out our Skype download and Zoom download guides.

All Yoshi games on Nintendo Switch

Yoshi games are kinda few and far between. There’s only been around a dozen games that actually feature the green dinosaur’s name. Still, he’s been Mario’s trusty sidekick ever since Super Mario World, and that means he’s always there to lend a hand, whether that be as another racer on the kart track or a golfing buddy for Mario’s leisure days, Yoshi is eternal.

While there have been around a dozen games with his name in the title, there are countless others where he’s been playable, and then even more where he’s appeared. For this list, we’re going to focus on Yoshi games where he’s playable, not just ones where he appears. If we only did games where he’s the main man, there’d only be three titles on this list. Also around half of these games are only available through Nintendo Switch Online, so require a subscription of some kind.

So, here we go, sending out some love for my brother Yoshi. Long live that weird egg laying green guy. Love him. Anyway, for more of a good time, check out our guide to the best party games on mobile, or our guide to the best car games on Switch and mobile. There are almost too many games out there to get your head around it these days.

Now, let’s get into all of the Yoshi games on Nintendo Switch.

Yoshi games on Switch

Yoshi, made of yarn, jumping in the air in celebration, from Yoshi's Crafted World.

Yoshi’s Crafted World

The spiritual successor to Kirby’s Epic Yarn, Yoshi’s Crafted world brings gorgeous cardboard and a play-set aesthetic to the Switch. It’s a pretty easy game to get the hang of, but its charm carries it through all the way to the end.

Yoshi and Peach riding futuristic karts from Mario Kart 8.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was the first of two games I picked up when I got my Switch (can you guess the other?). Ever since I could, I’ve mained Ludwig. I don’t know why. I kinda hate that weird guy. But, he’s there, alongside many other weird little guys. Yoshi is one of them, if you wanna stick him in a kart. He’s kinda cute. Here’s a list of every sup if you’re curious.

Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, and some Rabbits posing for the art of Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle.

Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle

This breakout Ubisoft collaboration with Nintendo came out of nowhere. When I first saw it, I shouted “Mario has a gun”, probably. Like XCOM but better and cuter, Mario + Rabbids brings tactical magic to the Mario series and looks good doing it. And Yoshi is there too, being all tactical and murdering Rabbids. So cute!

Yoshi flying through the air with a tennis racket in hand for Mario Tennis Aces.

Mario Tennis Aces

Mario Tennis Aces didn’t really capture critics’ hearts, but it did mine. With a blend of classic tennis action and some fighting game mechanics, it was a rock-solid sports game for my money. Just like many other sports titles, it has lots of different characters who are playable, Yoshi included.

The lineup for Mario Gold Super Rush, includeing, Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad, Wario, Yoshi, Bowser, Donkey Kong, Peach, Boo , Bowser Jr., Wario, Toadette, King Bobomb, the mayor of New Donk City, Rosalina, and a koopa.

Mario Golf: Super Rush

Another solid sports game, Mario Golf: Super Rush did a similar thing to Tennis Aces. It built a solid sports foundation and then added more arcadey mechanics on top. It’s great fun, and for all you Yoshi stans out there, he’s here too. Check out our Mario Golf: Super Rush review to learn more.

A screenshot from Super Mario party, showing Yoshi, Luigi, Wario, and Mario all fighting to get into a photo frame.

Super Mario Party

The first of two Mario Party games, Super Mario Party isn’t very good. I’ve played quite a lot of it, and I don’t really like it. But if you do that’s great! Jump into a game and go play as Yoshi ya weirdos.

Yoshi, Donkey Kong, and Peach, running up a hill avoiding boulders in Mario Party Superstars.

Mario Party Superstars

The second of two Mario Party games, this one’s great! It’s nice and old in its formula, has classic maps, and all in all is just a better experience. Oh and, just in case you forgot what list you were reading, Yoshi is also in this game. Take a gander at our Mario Party Superstars review to hear more of our thoughts.

Numerous characters from Super Smash Bros Ultimate in art for the game. Most prominently Cloud, doing a pose, Yoshi, jumping and sticking his tongue out, and Pikachu emanating electricity.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

I’m sure you already knew this one, right? When Nintendo revealed Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, it had the famous strapline “Everyone is here!” Could you imagine if that meant everyone but Yoshi? That’d be hilarious. Anyway, yep, he’s in here in this genuinely exceptional fighting game. Our Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tier list lets you know exactly where Yoshi ranks among the bunch.

Multiple Yoshi's around Baby Mario in art for Yoshi's Island.

Nintendo Switch Online Yoshi games

Here are the games with Yoshi in them that you can find as part of the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion.

  • Yoshi’s Story – N64
  • Mario Tennis – N64
  • Mario Kart 64 – N64
  • Super Mario Kart – SNES
  • Super Mario World 2 – SNES
  • Yoshi – NES

So, them’s the games, kiddo. Yoshi games deserve some love, so hopefully, they’ll get some. For more Yoshi possibilities, check out our guide to the best Mario games on Switch, he appears in all of them (almost).

What the Golf’s Snowtime update brings a white – and weird – Christmas

For anyone who hasn’t played What the Golf, it’s a parody golf game which gives the words “crazy golf” a whole new meaning. Each level presents a course with club, ball, and hole – like any golf game – but after that, who knows what will happen?

Perhaps your ball has a mind of its own (literally) or your club turns into a sheep. There is seriously no way to predict what each level will bring, and it’s your job to figure out how to get the ball (or sheep, or tree) into the hole (or mountain, or car). If you’re beginning to think that you’ve figured out the meta vibes of What the Golf: you’d be dead wrong.

Every update for the game has brought new, inventive levels and nothing feels old. The developers have a seemingly bottomless brain-pit filled with physics-based puzzles and quirky alternatives for golf clubs. And the Snowtime update, which went live on the App Store and Apple Arcade yesterday, looks to be more of the same.

For What the Golf’s non-denominational winter celebration, the developers have recruited frozen peas, frozen pizzas, and a frozen landscape for Snowtime fun – after all, there’s Snowtime like the present, right?

There will also be some snowman-related challenges, perfect in case we don’t get an actual White Christmas (which seems unlikely, given we literally never do). Here’s everything included in the Snowtime update (if you can decipher it):

  • Fetch the pizza quest
  • Yes now with snow
  • Pizzas
  • Extra COOL levels
  • Frozen peas, pizzas, and popsicles
  • A moose – NOT frozen!
  • A snowman trying to keep a snow profile
  • Did we mention pizza?
  • Even more chilly physics!

As well as a penchant for puns and pizza, the Snowtime update is sure to bring more inventive levels, dubious humour, and exciting changes to everyone’s favourite parody golf game.

If you like the sound of What the Golf, make sure to also check out the best mobile puzzle games. They might not carry the same irreverent humour, but definitely offer a great challenge. Alternatively, check out our roundup of all the Apple Arcade games to make sure you get the most bang for your buck!

Mario Kart Tour’s Anniversary Tour brings big rewards and classic courses

Mario Kart Tour‘s 1st Anniversary Tour is fast approaching, and it’s set to reintroduce a handful of popular city courses. You can also expect to earn some handy rewards during this limited-time celebration, including additional rubies and more. The current Los Angeles Tour will soon draw to a close, meaning time is of the essence if you want to grab its themed rewards.

It’s hard to believe that it’s already been a year since Nintendo’s kart racer arrived on the scene. The game has changed drastically over those 12 months, with its regular content drops helping to flesh out the core experience. Nintendo has also offered new ways to play, such as a fan-requested landscape mode, improved driving controls, and an extensive multiplayer component.

The 1st Anniversary Tour is slated to launch next Tuesday, October 6th. The main draw will no doubt be the five returning city courses, but you can also net yourself some decent log-in goodies by playing the game throughout the 14-day event. And, as a bonus, every reward you earn will also get you some extra rubies. Not bad at all.

Here’s a trailer for the Los Angeles Tour:

If you’re an avid MK Tour player, you’ll no doubt find our Mario Kart Tour challenges guide to be of great use. And you can grab the game itself from over on the App Store and Google Play as a free-to-play title.
